  1. What kind of magnets are you using? I use rare earth magnets. 3 N45 in the box, and 3 N52 inside the chest plate. Really strong.
  2. Ah, I'll keep my eyes open for that. I also have some suggestions
  3. Allright, final update for this armor build. I have submitted my approval and both Del and Gideon were approved! Here are some shots of the final details: Installing the lenses: I broke one bubble lens but I'll fix it later. Last thing to make was the chestbox. I ended up orderen a new box kit with RWA because I just couldn't get the one supllied by Radu where I wanted it to be. The greeblies are Radu's for most part, except for the bottom two little aluminum thingies, those are from Aluminum Falcon, and the discs and gears on the sides are from Klaus. The box attaches to my chest plate with magnets, and on the inside screws hold the donuts on the side in place. And finally, the flightsuit. Together with a fellow Garrison member that is an excellent sewer we completely designed a new flightsuit, as the ones on offer with other sellers are based on the CRL and the CRL is wrong ;). Here's some detail shots: It's an awesome piece of work, and since she now has the design and fabric down she will be able to make more of these flightsuits. And then it was time for approval, here's some shots! Del (yes I know the vest and detonator are crooked, but that's an easy fix). And Gideon! And now I can greet you as both TX-19979 and TI-19979!
  4. Allright, update time. I've quiet for some time, but work has continued. I'm almost done with everything now. First, the greeblies are attached to the bandolier: Del's detonator is done, and the scout belt as well: The chest rig is done as well. This was a lot of work. All strapping was replaced with real leather, new buckles were added. Attachment of the straps to the piece was placed on a more screen accurate position, and the attachment itself was done with leather. The front pouches were filled and an ABS plate was added. An extra pouch was added to the right side. All extra softparts were done with Cordura, the same stuff as the vest is made of. The helmet is almost done as well. The pillbox and decals were added: The red for the rams horn and cheek was done by paint. I used high gloss red and gloss clear varnish Then the helmet was glued, and the ears were attached: \ Some shots of the helmet detailing: Last are the lenses. I have some bubble lenses on the way, and prepared my flat lenses as a spare pair.
  5. These are 15mm snaps. My ammo belts are 29 cm x 6.5 cm. I think it is fine for approval as is, but in my eyes the snaps are slightly oversized compared to the game. But that's something for later
  6. The bandolier is fixed. The snaps are still too large, I will probably replace them with smaller ones in the future but for now this is it. I also cut the leather, and now the bandolier is almost done. (The white felt stickers will be replaced with black) The detonator is done The torso is almost done. The magnet construction for the shoulder straps is fixed, and the nylon straps with snaps are in place. And I finally took the step of actually starting on the bucket, always a big moment. Radu ships the mohawk strip pre-painted, however the paintjob on mine was too sloppy for my taste. I repainted it with Rust-Oleum Gun Metal Metallic. And dawm, that is one sexy color. (spoiler, the mohawk is already on the helmet as I forgot to take an after paintjob picture) The mohawk strip fits like a glove. Radu's construction is really solid! So it's coming along nicely. Next weekend I hope to finish Del's vest and the scout belt in its entirety.
  7. You're right, I had not even noticed that. Okay, I will correct that over the weekend
  8. So, small update time. I'm really bad with taking photo's of every step op my process. So here today just an update on the bandolier, shoulder straps and scout belt. But the chest box is also coming along nicely and the chest and back plates are nearly finished as well. This week I hope to get a real start on the helmet, and with a little luck and perseverance everything will be finished in 3-4 weeks. Anyway, the bandolier: Radu supplied the armor with a rubber bandolier. I didn't really like the color/look of it though, so I decided to use Plasti-Dip on it to give it a little more color and shine. It worked really well. Plasti-dip is also rubber and very flexible, so no need to worry about cracking or anything. Before: And after: For my shoulder straps I decided to go full magnets, so they will be attached by magnets on the front and back. I used ring magnets and chicago screws on them. The Plasti-Dip trick worked well for the bandolier, so I also used it on the straps: Next up the scout belt. The boxes consist of three parts, I puzzled something together that makes the plastic parts fit the leather belt like a glove, and also allows for enough flexibility for me to actually wear it. Next update will be on the chest and back, they should be finished this week. And it took some modifications to make them accurate, but I think the end result is awesome.
  9. Hey all, My Inferno journey began in the beginning of last year, with orders for parts with several people. Finally my armor arrived a few weeks ago, and now I'm putting it all together. First my parts list: Inferno Squad general Bucket: Radu Plucinsky Bucket aluminium greeblies: The Aluminium Falcon Chest/Back armor: Radu Plucinsky Chestbox: Radu Plucinsky Chestbox aluminium greeblies: Klaus & The Aluminium Falcon Flight suit: Garrison friend Flight suit patches: Endor Finders Boots: CROWPROPS Gloves: CROWPROPS Compad: Targworx Officer Belt: Klaus Code Cylinders: Klaus Holster: Darman (RotJ Holster) E-11: 3DpropsNL TL-50: 3DpropsNL ID-10 Seeker Droid: Garrison friend Transport box: Stanley 190L Del Meeko specific: DLT-19X: 3DpropsNL Tactical Vest: Flyye Law Enforcement chest rig, interwebs Shoulder Ammo Pouch: MP-40 pouch, Ebay Scout belt hard parts: Radu Plucinsky Scout belt soft parts: Boomsma leerwaren Thermal Detonator: Radu Plucinsky Gideon Hask specific: Bandolier hard parts: Radu Plucinsky Bandolier soft parts: Boomsma leerwaren All right, time for pics! First, the armor: I have trimmed the chest en back plate, shortened their shoulder parts to make them accurate, and modified the sides a little bit: For the back plate I will probably drill out the circular indentation under the right shoulder, and make a new elliptical hole under the left shoulder. Next up for these two is the attachment of the shoulder straps. I see a lot of people affixing their shoulder straps with Chicago screws. I want to be able to seperate my back plate from the chest plate for transportation, so I will affix the shoulder straps on the chest with the screws, but do something magnetic for the back. But first some more sanding of the wedge connectors. The scout belt hard parts are also done for the most part: The detonator is also done for the most part, just need to paint the tubes and affix the closing caps My chest rig and MP-40 pouch have been lying in wait for almost a year now, finally time to start modding the chest rig! Inspired by Maxime's build (here) I will also be modifying the strapping on the rig. I'm going to replace all the strapping with leather, and also go for a three layered leather approach the the shoulder straps. Way more accurate than what is currently described in the CRL. Unfortunately my kit did not include aluminum greeblies for the helmet and chestbox. I don't want to paint resin greeblies, I prefer the real aluminum look. So the first order of aluminum greeblies also arrived this week, with the other chestbox greeblies on the way. The coming weeks I'll just keep working on it, hope to be finished by the end of May.
