How did you attach your pouches? I like it. Also, I didn't know the silver was a thing! It looks cool!

Master Tej - Help with NovaTrooper Elite Armor Build
Bavery replied to Master Tej's topic in Novatrooper
I would/did. haha. Another thing I'm noticing, the consistency of the paint texture isn't there. IF you're going to correct this, I'd HIGHLY recommend using Rustoleum colors instead. I've used them on my Merc and my Nova, and get nothing but compliments on the paint jobs. In my experience, Krylon sucks. No offense to any of you, but I've never had anything but bad luck. It runs very easily and doesn't last nearly as long. So, as much as a pain in the butt it might be, I'd recommend a repaint with LOTS of coats (like three) of black and gold. If you'd like, I cost snag a picture of the colors I use? -
I just got word, my GML passed me! I should be TX-11383 I wanted to make sure my pack passed the application before posting a tutorial.
-
So I'm putting together a tutorial for a completely DIY SD-48 (the pack I use) pack for the mercs. Would you guy like me to post it here as well? It's a low budget and very easy build.
-
Took new pics, and my app has been sent to my GML! I won't bore you with the app pics, here are some of the others: My Cousin wasn't having it...

I appreciate the compliments guys! After a not so hard morning, I finished the pack. I scrathbuilt the exhaust port as well as the thermal det pad. Here are my app pics, as well as my pack. I got excited and forgot to add the shells and the "decal" onto the pack prior to taking the pics. Do you guys think I'm good, or should I gear back up? Don't know why the lighting was so bad, but o well!

I plan on doing that to my aftermarket radio, this one is strictly for my approval. I told myself I'd be official (or at least have my app sent) before May. I have this weekend off, so I'm going to finish my pack this weekend, and then it's an app away.
-
You guys took too long I moved on with it: One for depth...
-
So, after I cranked this out in two weeks, I took a long vacation from my workshop. I've returned. I've continued working on my radio, and here it is now: (PS: I know I'm missing two of those things) But I have questions: 1: Do you think the Large circular piece is okay? 2: Is the gold thing Okay? I like the look to it.

All good. I'm kind of over it. A couple of Garrison mates of mine are going to New London, and while they're there they said they'll stop in there for me. (Expectantly, of course.) But, I found some more pics from the parade!

I hate bad mouthing a guy that everyone loves, but here goes. In October, I made an arrangement to give three $50 payments for a pack. I gave the first, and then my family started moving, and gas isn't cheap. So in December, I told him I couldn't do it, but I felt that we were beyond a refund. So I asked for just a Radio. He was understanding and agreed. However, it never shipped, and a week or so ago, a friend from the NEG who knows him asked what's up? Long story short, he's convinced I sold his son some mini figures three years ago, took the money, and never sent the figure. I didn't have a Paypal three years ago. And upon asking to show this record, he refuses. TL:DR: paid, never shipped, personal vendetta.
-
Pack is LITERALLY two pieces and some paint from being done. I was ripped off by Dirtyboy, so I don't have a radio. However, I have some sweet picture from the NEG's St. Paddy's day parade

Okay, pics of my hard work! Fixed back allignment... After pictures were taken.
-
Okay guys, painting should be DONE tonight. But do the pouches look correctly placed?
-
Double post: All bells and whistles on. Not to mention Skootch's decals.

The bucket is three floors down. The Glaze is curing, so I don't really want to go grab it and measure it. The maker is Stormtrooperguy.
-
Thanks man! The tape is nothing special, just not the cheap generic kind. I think it's like Scotch brand? I may be wrong though. Over the years I've used all different types of tapes to find which is best, and I think they're all the same if used correctly. I've just had lots... And lots of practice sigiling.

Well I didn't get to any straping issues today, but I did do this. Also, for the armor, I got a new Rustoleum 3x thick Glazing clear coat. I'm going to try it tomorrow, but has anyone used it?
-
Didn't think about that. I'll try it
-
I see the confusion. What I meant to say was, "The back isn't straight. don't know if I'll fix it DUE to the giant pack I have to wear." Saying basically since It'll be covered, why fix it?
-
I was not planning on it. I don't know if I gave this impression, so I apologize.

From bottom of face to top of dome, about 12 or 13 inches. And probably a pound or so. It is a Watch City Armory TK bucket. I wanted the paint perfect. On my Mando, there is not a single run, and all of my lines are crisp. I wanted it here too. I'm going to address your points in order: I can lower the biceps no problem I just put it on... haha. Nothing intentional going on here. It is fully tightened though. Neither gaunt is fitted well actually. They're narrow, but wicked tall. Like I refuse to believe anyone's arms are like these. Chest and back are strapped at the shoulders. Chest is actually snapped to a very secure strap on the ab. So it cannot leave the ab all together. And as far as overlapping more, physically impossible for this kit. I don't know the original maker, but its way too small in some places (and I'm a SMALL guy), and far too large in others. I will be addressing the back tomorrow morning before class. I see the issue. I tightened the way the thigh fit me, and did not adjust the ammo belt with it. That'll be addressed tomorrow. I keep getting comments that the bucket is too big, but honestly, I don't see a way I could possibly fix it. This all being said, if anyone has spare gauntlets, chest and/or back, or a smaller sized helmet lying around, feel free to PM or email me. Always up for a trade or sale

Here are some app style pics. I'd paint them, but of course, it's raining. So I finished placing my rivets, and took pics. Immediate issues I noticed: -Back isn't straight. Don't know if I'll fix it do to the giant back pack I have to wear, but we'll see. -Need to velcro the pauldron.

So, I haven't been updating, but I've been damn busy. I have had this TX for many months now, but never really worked on it. A guy in my garrison challenged me to finish this (Minus the pack) for the 17th so I can be in our annual St. Paddy's day parade. So, I got a new bucket, had to put it together, made a neck seal (still not finished), assembled all of my armor, modified it all to fit, bought new gloves, and started painting. I'm stuck in the painting process due to a snow storm, but I still have a week. Test pic 1: I was wearing my buddies TK buckets for the sake of wearing a bucket. Test pic 2: Helmet was still in the building process, neck seal wasn't put together, and gloves weren't purchased. Other updates: Helmet is now wearable, and ready for paint. Gave up on trying to get the ears flush, so I cheated. Neck seal put together, now just needs a bib. Gloves. They have this smart touch crap, and a tab comes over the finger. Do you think it will be an issue?

So, I wanted to take a picture to convey in other people's minds (not you guys, more like Facebook) that made them see this pack like I do. So I bought primer, and primed it. This is NOT the final coat of primer, as there as still many things to fix, such as the lip on the toolbox. Ignore the one year old feeling my pack. Hahaha
