  1. looking good! you could probably wear your armour inside my armour like one of those russian nesting dolls! i did have an issue recently with my helmet though.. i used waproo red for my boots as it was an exact match for my armour, but i suspect it isint a colour available where you are
  2. Aww. So how do we get tams a femtrooper tx??. Send these pics to mickey and get her in the next film?
  3. Hard to say if the anovos stuff is good or not. I expect it to be ok due to the guys running the show being 501st, but that dosent mean guaranteed greatness. Approval level is dependant on what you do, not the kit. So go hard and make it the best you can I believe you will require a thermal det for an level approval. and I find it strange one isint included. maybe just the endcaps and detail board are there as you can get the pipe from any hardware supply shop. for ventilation checkout evilboy on these forums. comms..? hyperdyne icomm and some others are out there somewhere. goodluck and welcome aboard
  4. Aaaand.. a steampunk variant. ok, ok not for us but I thought you lot might like a look.
  5. freddys shot of 3 troopers you did really well at the troop. it was a pleasure to be there with you and all our new bretheren. (I think that was our biggest troop as far as numbers of troopers over the weekend and the crowd easily had to be more than the 50,000 we dealt with last year!)
  6. I'm a total muppet when it comes to building stuff, but i still managed to build an older style ARC trooper (it took me a year!) If i can do that, and still have all my fingers, you can build anything.. trust me on this.. you can do it!! And this lot seem to know how to help out just take small bites.. a little bit at a time slowly adds up!
  7. i checked.. he posts as MattG drmaul is is name elsewhere (swnz forums).. my bad anyhoo he is our XO, or ask phill our commander, though you might have to wait till he gets back from chile. edit: i've sent matt a pm on O42, so he might contact you
  8. Any questions , hit me up on the O42 forums. Im not in auckland so wont be able to chat in person till trooping time. But many of our newbies start at geddons. I did back in 2009. Plenty of intertrooper support and advise there.. and fun ! Send a pm to matt G. (Drmaul?) ,Our club XO, if you cant see upcomming troops. I think you are ready for the starwars reads library troops that are very soon
  9. i have some velcro on the front where the belt should sit. it helps with alignment too, especially when your helper that is doing up your belt has no idea what you are doing/wearing (yeah.. trooping solo is difficult sometimes) see you at auckygeddon in a months time !!
  10. just wondering about a 'troop' i had late last year. I was asked by some friends if i would show up in their club one night. The friends are the manager and girls at a local strip club. The manager told me she used to do a stormtrooper show back when she danced, and wanted to see a decent suit i have 1 pic that is printable can i add that too my kill count? It was a special recon mission after all i even got pointed out as the improved security at the bar.. No? Didnt think so.. just thought i'd ask (and brag a little bit )
  11. looking at the pic I believe the bulby one on the right is the left arm and the more straight one(on the left of the pic) is the right arm
  12. If you use Velcro then I suggest two extra things. sewing and superglue. Sew the Velcro to your elastic and/or webbing, don't just rely on the velcros sticky (assuming you got sticky back stuff). Also it is a good idea to run a bead of superglue around the edge of the Velcro that is stuck direct to plastic. You have to be careful doing this to not add too much or it will run somewhere it shouldn't. The effect you are aiming for is the glue forming a weld line on the edge of the Velcro linking it direct to the plastic. think of two steel plates lying on top of each other with a weld line holding them together at the edge.. helps the brain understand what I mean.
  13. hey.. sorry for the late reply. I made it myself. buy two cheap hats and savage them. I could only find those santa sack/socks of felt when I needed it... now the hats are everywhere. I also glued magnets into the helmet and hat at 3 points so it kind of 'sticks' on vid off the news.. sorry I didn't get the sound.. candy cane I made with plumbing pvc pipe and paint
