  1. I think we all have put on something the wrong way at one point of time, good thing it is easy to fix - and great that your son is helping out, perhaps a new member in the making 😉 Keep going - as I wrote earlier, you´re almost there, now it is on to the fitting and getting the details right.
  2. Nice to see, that you haven´t given up on this one 😊 I will try to give you some comments but it is really hard to see the details on your pictures, it would help if you take them in a better light. If you could take pictures of each part in good lighting also, that would help a lot. I have a couple of things that I noticed right away, and that you will need to correct : If possible could you lower your chest plate a bit ? the chest and back armor do not need to touch under the fabric bridge - you can extend it with velcro and then make the bridge fabric a bit longer. This will also make it more comfortable for you. Your shoulder bells sits to high, they need to sit on the edge of your shoulder, the correct position will also help so your flakvest sleeves do not look to long. Your pouches on the cummerbund needs to change sides - easy fix - but they also needs to be higher up so the top of the pouches sits under the edge of your chest armor and moved more towards the ribs in front without covering them. We shouldn´t be able to see the flap that they are hanging from. The closure on the cummerbund in the bask should sit in the middle, that will need to be changed. Your dropboxes needs to be lowered a bit too, the straps are to tight and its hard to see if your clips on the straps are put on the right way. The clips on your gloves will need to be cut of. The bolts on the helmet will need to be painted black. With better pics, I can give you more feedback on the rest, that I can´t see in full. Please also take a look at the model in the CRL for references : Costuming:TX shadow scout - 501st Legion Databank Keep going, you´re almost there 😉
  3. I am so sorry to hear that, as to a vendor - there are some on Etsy, but I really don´t know of any personally, since my dad handmade mine out of wood. Perhaps someone else can chip in ?
  4. As long as it follows the reference pic/text, it should be fine 😉
  5. Mine don´t have it molded like that either, so you can paint it or use a sticker like the one the scouts from Endor uses on theirs.
  6. I got a hold of Marc from Ople Props, he is ok, just really busy in the private life, but he asked me to tell you all to please mail him : mail@opleprops.com - and he will get back to you asap.
  7. I am trying to get in touch with Marc who has the Ople shop, haven´t heard back from him yet - getting a bit worried I must say.
  8. You´re welcome, that is why we are here - to help, and yes cardboard works fine, I wrapped mine with lots of gaffa tape to make them more sturdy and "waterproof" LOL Yes, I have foam on my knee armor, due to the same problem, as long as it is not noticeable.
  9. Hi Welcome 😊 You´re on the right track -the pics are a bit blurry for me to see the details, but nice work so far. The CRL for this costume is found here : Costuming:TX shadow scout - 501st Legion Databank It is a good thing to go point by point As to the shoulder bells, the elastic around the upper arm should hold them in place, but from my own experience it is not enough - velcro on the flakvest sleeve could do the trick, but I would recommend you to use the t-strap (elastic) at the shoulder bridge loops for security, then you´ll not loose them. Your pouches will need some filling as they do not hang loose like the snowtroopers does. Most use some sort of stabil insert box for them. You´re almost there 😉
  10. Same with the neck seal and holster : Neck Seal Black with horizontal ribs, fitted to the wearer, and extending from the base of the neck to conceal the entire neck. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Prohibited for a accurate style costume. _______________________ Holster None is present.
  11. Welcome, looking forward to follow this WIP 😉 If you have any questions, we are here to assist
  12. I don´t see any flap, but there could be a seat patch - it is really hard to see.
  13. Following the CRL and just wanted to say this is looking really great, you guys are doing one h... of a job on this 😄 I agree with Jordan regarding the colors of the under arm attachment and shoulder bridge
  14. Congratulations 🙂
  15. I have an army engineer, even at specialist level, which I wouldn´t be able to have done, if it weren´t for you in here, who helped me. Spec. Ops is the home for my costume, no one else wanted to touch it and in here we have been taken in just like all the other costumes as part of the pack. Regarding a new detachment, perhaps in the future, but putting us into IOC ? no thank you. I am pleased to hear, that Spec. Ops is getting the new Andor Imp. Army Troopers, let´s get them to feel at home here.
  16. With Andor showing new army costumes, I have no doubt that an Imp. Army detachment perhaps could be the way forward, though I also like the idea of detachment squads - I am open to both and would like to offer my help if needed. Moving us to IOC ? no, it wouldn´t feel like the right place for the costumes. Already a member of IOC, so it has nothing to do with the detachment ?
  17. Mine is this - I removed the strap and velcro, added the snaps for specialist level. https://www.bodyarmoroutlet.com/collections/pouches/products/condor-modular-gas-mask-pouch-black https://shop.militaryrange.eu/product/modular-gas-mask-pouch-black-ma11002
  18. Thanks for the tag David. Great to see another engineer on the way :-) I have sewn my own suit, since I always have problems finding the right size in a coverall. My hipps just wont fit in a size that is right for my short height LOL I got my pouches and belt from aliexpress and the gas mask pouch from the e bay, I couldn´t find any in Europe either. I was a bit nervous getting them from China but luckily it is not cheap materiale + great prices. Since it has been a couple of years, sadly those I got them from, has closed. But just search for : military molle pouch phonecase, handcuff case, gas mask, multi modular storage big pouch and a lot comes up. Hope it helps - looking forward to seeing you in the ranks Chris.
