  1. Cool. Probably just a black material with a lot of blue in it as a base then. -iz
  2. Looks nice and well fitted. Be sure to remember to paint the bolts on the helmet black. I do have one concern with the cummerbund. It looks like a dark purple color in nearly all the pictures instead of a black. Not sure if it's just the lighting. -iz

    Boots???

Technically they shouldn't work, however they may look close enough once the shin armor is over them. You should speak to the local GML if you're in contact with him and get his feeling on it. I'd probably hold off on buying new shoes until then. -iz
  4. Send Scootch a PM about parts, bro.
  5. Well, I volunteer my time to "test assemble" on and wear it to check the comfy-ness for public use. -iz
  6. Just so you're prepared then. You won't get it perfect the first time, no matter how hard you try. You can get pretty dang close though, and fix the rest later. -iz
  7. The CRL doesn't have all the pics up yet, but it does have the written description. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_swamptrooper
  8. When in doubt on colors check the official 501st CRLs. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_shadow_scout
  9. I actually don't use any padding. If you fit it right none is needed, though some people put some in a few spots after a couple troops and you figure out how it fits your body. -iz

    New Nova Trooper

There are two Novas in the Legion, that I know of. I don't think I have any really good pics of my armor. Took them for the CRL and they came out all fuzzy going to be able to try again tomorrow. Yes, it is fully approved it just has the yellow square because it's missing the full model photo and is therefore not "complete." Best way to make an FX bucket a nova is to sand it, paint it black, make sure there is enough tie for the paint to cure then paint the striping. -iz
  11. Umm... So that's how it's supposed to work! D'oh!
  12. No it means I can learn from your build!
  13. Cool. If it's just a costume that you're having fun customizing then no approval is ever needed. If you ever want to to try for approval, then let me know and I'll help you get it all sorted out and get you through the approval process as I've done it a few times before. -iz
  14. Yes, I have worked with SC on multiple occasions. Great everytime. The armor is a bit bigger than others, but we were able to mod it enough to fit Wraith (the only living smurf) just fine! -iz
  15. When in doubt check the requirements. The specialist program does not require any special glove past what is acceptable for the base costume. There MAY be little tweaks are and there to the program, but nothing huge if it were to happen. Also, as far as the latex gloves go, we'd have to see them with the costume to judge them properly. They may be a little too form-fitting. I still don't understand why anyone would want to wrap themselves in rubber and then troop. -iz
  16. Cool. You're about my height and weight. -iz
  17. The top, up by the kidney plate.
  18. Interesting. It has potential for approval. I'll do a review of the costume if you'd like. I can probably point out what the LMO would like to see and know. -iz
  19. Just pull it up. It'll sit slightly higher unless you trim it. -iz
  20. Is it possible to get the belt without the shims for the back? I'm thinking of making something stupid. -iz
  21. No, they won't really line up. -iz
