Previous helmet builds I simply bought mirrored auto tint and applied it to my green plastic visor lenses.

Its all about goals and whether or not you want to be respected in the Star Wars costuming community. Do you just want to have a costume to wear at a friends wedding and occasionally wear to costumed events? Then get the star wars costumes "outfit" or Do you want a screen accurate replica Stormtrooper costume that once completed will give you access to a Star Wars costuming community with thousands of members across the globe? Potential access to exclusive events? The respect of those fellow members and countless of friendships in the process. I would agree that the price between that ready to wear outfit and Scootch's kit (once completed) would probably end up being the same amount. I've bought kits from Scootch several times within the last couple of years. I'm very pleased with his professionalism and quality of work.

I think you look great. What kit is that? Looks like the Kevin's femtrooper chest, back, abs and butt plate. Its hard to tell with the black armor but do both of those legs have sniper plates on the knees?

I agree, Novus works great. I've also used this Meguiars scratch remover. Here is an example of the shine I got using the Meguiars. The paint job is a rattle can Rustoleum High Performance gloss black.

Looks awesome. Glad the boot color was able to get corrected.

This weekend my garrison had two days of trooping. One of the days we got to troop at a special screening Return of the Jedi. One of the posters for an independent movie was entitled "These Amazing Shadows". What an awesome title for a film. I happened to be wearing my TX to that troop so of course I had to take a picture with the poster

i saw that earlier today too. Now I'm not so worried about all the scratches & scuffs on my armor now.

Actually, I miss the functionality of the FX lid. The first time I wore it to Comic Con I held "everything" in that bucket. Keys & wallet were held with velcro inside along with the fans and batteries. I'm built "smaller" than most troopers so I had to get another lid other than a FX to have folks stop calling me a "bobble head"
