  1. Welcome aboard Ross, looks like you have everything on order so that's a nice start. Look forward to seeing some photos of you build. Cheers Tom
  2. Good start Aston, looking forward to some more pics
  3. Great start Nick, looking good The only thing I would comment on is your boots as the side of the sole doesn't have the ribs. I know you said you picked these up cheap but are you going to try and get some Doc's? Spats looks great by the way. Cheers Tom
  4. Thanks Guys, I really appreciate your awesome feedback
  5. Well I have finally finished my DLT-19X.....woohoo. The complete set
  6. With regards to my STL files for the E-11D and all my Death Trooper files I sell them. If you are interested please send me a PM on Facebook (Tom Campbell or TDK Props) Cheers Tom

  9. Awesome Job by all, fingers crossed it all get approved. Cheers Tom
  10. Well we finally got around to 3D rendering the DLT-19X blaster rifle for the Death Trooper Specialist. FAR OUT this thing is massive, 1248mm long, 117 individual STL files/parts. Its designed to have a PVC pipe or wooden dowel to go down the middle. Here are some 3D render pics and the completed 3D printed parts, still sooooooooo much sanding to do then paint and weathering....well back to it. Woohoo the whole set.................back to sanding
  11. So after some excellent discussions on the forums and Facebook regarding the alternative colour that is on the Death Trooper helmet and costume, we have come to the conclusion that there is an alternate colour used on the armor. Also Mark was able to send a tweet to one of the costume designers and he has confirmed that was another colour but it was subtle. So I have resprayed the areas on the Chest and ab plate with a Tamiya Metallic Black and it looks perfect IMO. Here are some pics from a photo shoot I did with the new colours.
  12. Thanks Mark for all your efforts and I was more than happy to contribute to the construction of the CRL. This is the first time I have been able to assist at the evolution stage of a CRL and it has been most interesting. It is great to get other peoples perspective on things as it can open your eyes up to things that you may have not seen.......especially after you have looked over the same images a million times...lol So lets hope the process goes smoothly and if you need anymore photos please let me know. Cheers Tom
  13. I have 3 printers, Wombot Modus 400x400x500mm build area, Wombot Exilis 250x250x330 build area and a Creatbot DX 300x250x300. I have had problems with them all, but that is 3D printing. There are heaps of review videos on YouTube I suggest you watch some of these and this should start you i the right direction. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_7aK9PpYTqt08ERh1MewlQ This is a great list to start with: https://gumroad.com/l/NBvg You must do some research and take into account how much money you want to spend, what you want to print, what size print bed you want to list goes on. Good luck.
  14. Hi David, Thanks for the kind words mate I appreciate them and good luck with your build. Yes sending me a PM which you have done is perfect I will respond to the one that you sent me. Cheers Tom
  15. Hi David, I have 3D printed my armour and created all the STl files for it and they are for sale. In my opinion neither of the ones you mentioned are accurate and I originally bought the Do3D armour and was not happy so we did then ourselves. I have two build threads on here and my armour is currently being used as the photos in the temporary CRL. Here is my 3D printed costume build thread: http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/4379-tommys-completed-death-trooper-build/ Here is my 3D ptinted Blaster thread: http://forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/4509-tommys-dt-blastech-e-11d-blaster-build/ If you like what you see please send me a PM on Facebook (Tom Campbell) or at TDK Props. Cheers Tom
  16. Since my costume debut for the R1 premier and the posting of my 4 build videos, I have received awesome feedback from you all on my costume and I greatly appreciate it. However, by far the most overwhelming question that has come up is about the paint scheme and the dark grey colour I have painted on several areas of my armor. Now some of you have said they cannot see this other colour and that they are completely black and others have said my colour is too light and not dark enough. I would like to share with you all the ref pics that I have gathered that clearly show that there is another colour on the armor that matches or is very close to the colour that is on the screen used Helmets, Anovos Helmet and Disney Park costumes. I would also like to explain several of the photos that you have seen of my costume. These have been done under lighting conditions that are very bright. This was to allow all the detail that is on this costume to be evident, most of these photos where used as my submission photos or to help with the CRL. I had to do this so my GML the LMO and the Spec Ops command staff and Mark who has been putting together the CRL could see this detail as black is a very hard colour to single out detail on. In contrast to this some of the photos that I have had taken under different condition hardly show the colour differences at all and almost show my costume as being completely black as in the film. I have also chosen to weather my armor to match the SWCE photos of the screen used costumes, I just love the way they look. So, there is also weathering in the channels of a lot of the armour which again really is accentuated under the very bright condition that my photo's where taken under. Anyway, whether you want to go as far as I have with the weathering or want to stay as shinny as you can that's up to you, but there is undeniable evidence that there was a contrasting grey colour used on these costumes and this is what has been included in the preliminary CRL. I hope this answers a lot of your questions and gives you a greater understanding of how I came to this paint scheme. Please see ref pictures below with the grey area circled in RED. These pics are made up of screen used costumes, Anovos Costumes, TV promo shots and Disney park costumes. They can't all be wrong? Cheers Tom
  17. I agree with Mark regarding the Neck seal, in all ref pics of this from screen used costumes the neck seal is attached to the apron and as he also stated this is the same on almost every neck seal I have seen or made or used for Star Wars costumes in including for my approved Kylo Ren. It has to be attached to an apron or you would see skin where it breaks or some other garment you might wear underneath and this would not be a true representation of the costume. With regards to the shorts or ribbed area around the groin and butt area it is clearly shown in every screen shot and ref pic to be the same material that is used for the elbow and knee gaskets. However if you look closely at the SWCE screen used ref pics there is no gaskets that go directly through the gusset from the front to the back so it not uncomfortable to wear as the ribs are broken up to allow for movement. The basic level in a CRL must represent a screen accurate account of the costume or what is the point of having one? You just can't simply dumb down the basic approval because its too hard. Yes I agree that there should be level 2 and even level 3 for super screen accurate versions of the costume however these are usually for items or methods of construction that where used for the screen used costumes, such as the Jered Doc Martin boots which are no longer available but there are suitable alternatives that look very close or say the way a TK is strapped together some use just basic webbing and velco but the screen used suits used brackets and elastic. Anyway that's my 2 cents worth. Cheers Tom
  18. Well I have to top of my DT build with the ultimate accessory apart from a DLT-19 which i need to get cracking on. I printed off Jyn's little Stormtrooper doll, so I had to get a photo. The pics need a little more work in Photoshop...haha
  19. Thanks guys again for the ringing endorsement of my build, I really appreciate it.
  20. Awesome work Oliver, the render pics are looking spot on. Hopefully you have your printers up and going soon. Really looking forward to the rest of your build. Cheers Tom
  21. Being new to this detachment and hopefully a permanent resident soon I have no affiliation to any past designations, but I fully agree with "Darth Emphatic" Steve that it should be DT for the Death Trooper.
  22. Thanks guys, for the kind words and great feedback. I really appreciate it. Cheers Tom
