In some lighting, the ab section and the chest and arms seem like two slightly but distinctly different shades of red. They're close in most pictures, but in the right light the midsection looks to have a bit more orange to it IMO. So whether they were painted or tinted in casting, I'd say the hard and flexible bits were colored in different ways

I know it's not a reasonable reference for details, but the back appears to generally be a shoretrooper plate, ehich you can also see the collar and shoulder straps for in the new trailer
