It's just unfinished Snowtrooper armor over an Imperial jumpsuit, but I think it looks pretty good. Plus the location we had our photoshoot at couldn't be better, Craters of the Moon Nat'l Monument & Reserve!

Resurrecting this thread with some photos from The 2022 Star Wars Celebration. A MP40 based blaster was showcased:

850 Armor Works has made molds for this costume and had a debut at the premiere. They are tweaking the design now that the Visual Dictionary has come out. https://www.facebook.../850armorworks/

We've got some more images from Topps. Be warned, speculation abounds on the source websites, but the images are legit published. They've got a serious Firefly Browncoats crossover going on. http://epicstream.co...an-as-Imperials https://www.reddit.c...nches_val_is_a/ The blasters are pretty cool. There's something like a A180 sniper, and it seems's Val has a holdout Scout blaster on her bandolier. Beckett's dual pistols in the first pic somewhat remind me of a Bryar in his right hand and not sure of the one in his left. There's also a guy on etsy selling the E-11 Mudtrooper variant. https://www.etsy.com...-blaster-diy-or

We don't learn much more about this costume than we already knew from the latest trailer, but here are some pics nonetheless. I'm definitely getting a Janek Sunber/Maridun vibe off of all this though -- definitely belongs here in the Imperial Army section. And this one to me looks like Marty McFly:

Anybody else see that vertical seam on the belly between the chestplate and the belt? This is not a standard double-breasted Imperial officer uniform underneath. Also the chestplate is not exactly like the Veers/Snowtrooper pattern either, with different button placement and the armor joints from the arms toward the belt buckle. I think that an Galactic Marine is a good blank slate but may need to be extended down the belly. Imperial Navy Commando is also similar. [edit] Looks like a guy on the main 501st boards is looking for "investors" for new molds he'll be making for the unique armor parts, like the chestpiece. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=99029

Unless we've got a tweet from a Costume Designer that worked on the film, it's an assumption. That doesn't mean it's wrong though. Just know that like most of the other Imperial Army CRLs, this one has not been approved and the official standard likely will change up until it's approved, so any purchases made now may possibly not be approvable in the future, but it's those early builders that help get the standards approved. We're all looking at what information becomes available and observing what we can. **POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW *** For instance, a lot of what we see in this costume matches the Lego minigure labelled "Han Solo (75212)" so my guess is we'll see Han wearing this uniform, and get some really good looks at it... *** END SPOILER ***

Haven't found any discussion on this in the Search, so thought I'd start a thread to discuss the figure that came out today and gives us a lot of detail on this new trooper: [EDIT] I have learned that this is being considered a Snowtrooper variant and is being discussed on the 501st boards. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=98437 Also, this speeder bike pilot seen in the trailer incorrectly had been called a range trooper by early speculation, but we now know it to be incorrect. Who knows what he'll be called. [/EDIT] https://io9.gizmodo....ry-a-1822974071 https://www.inverse....ries-toys-lando Not sure how these relate to previous mentions of the Range Trooper (which made it into the trailer): http://www.moc-pages.../moc.php/445003

Here's what I see: AT-ST Helmet with rangefinder (but no antenna), ear discs, but no rear rod. Goggles seem to use stormtrooper lenses or at least have that shape AT-AT Commander/Snowtrooper chest Imperial belt with rectangular buckle and disc, and metal belt boxes Black stormtrooper belt worn underneath Tunic material ends at hip level Cape/shawl Shoulder armor? Some type of white and red identifying band, like an MP or Medic. These troops remind me a lot of the Imperial Medic from The Force Unleashed for Wii. Could definitely be medics next to the 2-1B. [edit: beat my post by a second!] Can you post the source that confirms that guy is a medic?

Awesome new pictures posted! I started a research thread for this in the IOC boards several years ago, but never did anything with it. Here's the link for some more references and my draft CRL: http://www.imperialo...orce-unleashed/ Also, someone here on the boards is making the helmet for this, as part of a Navy Commando build. forum.specops501st.com/index.php?/topic/2767-nc-helmet-build/

What's cool about this build is we'll be able to use this dome for the TFU Imperial Officer and Imperial Medic as well, since they're slightly different than a standard Veers/AT-ST/Snowtrooper helmet.

Star Wars Rebels: Imperial Army Trooper

Just saw a pre-production artwork showing this trooper on a speeder. Doesn't rule out the AT-PT theory but shows they are a multi-role trooper. -
Star Wars Rebels: Imperial Army Trooper
kievanmereel posted a topic in TX Research & Development Bay
I came across this picture someone grabbed at a con where some pre-production images regarding the upcoming Star Wars: Rebels TV show. I don't know the official name of this Imperial trooper, but it looks a lot like a modified AT-ST pilot. Other variants of the AT-ST exist already, such as the Imperial Army Trooper and the Imperial Destroyer Engineer. Both builds of these so far have used the standard AT-ST helmet, but this one is different and has a lot of custom armor. Helmet: AT-ST base helmet with "code cylinders" on the sides, but no rangefinder on right side or depressions for metal rod in the back. Painted a light gray or white. Black Imperial cogs on both sides of the forehead. New white custom faceplate worn underneath which seems to be based off of the McQuarrie Hoth Shield Generator concept painting. The Snow Clone helmet is based off of this same picture and may be a useful starting point. One of the main characters of the show, Ezra Bridger, holds this helmet (presumably found from a crashed Tie Fighter). Looks like Hasbro will be releasing the helmet I don't believe it will be up to snuff. See pics here. Jumpsuit: Very close to standard gray Imperial jumpsuit. Thigh pockets have chevron closures. Knees are reinforced. Back pockets exist. Commpad pocket seems further up the arm than standard. Belt: Standard Imperial Crewman belt. Snap is worn to the right. Gauntlets: Close to standard. Three decorative stiched lines are on the back of the hand, and a lighter-colored panel is on the outer side of each gauntlet flare. Boots: Same height as jackboots, but don't seem to be made of leather. Three equally-spaced rows of strapping (?) on the shaft of the boot, with an adjuster buckle at the top outside position. Shoulder armor: Shaped like TK shoulder bells, but without the midline ridge. Have the same row of raised lines at the bottom edge like a Snowtrooper, but the bells are too long for standard snowtrooper shoulders. Painted black or charcoal gray, as is the rest of the armor. Large white Imperial cogs over the shoulder joint. Back armor: Looks like a standard Veers-style backplate with different detailing. Chest armor: Custom piece that is reminiscent of a Biker Scout chest, but is completely flat. Does anyone else have a similar reference to compare this to? -
Wickerman Imperial Navy Commando Build

Very awesome! When I originally posted the research for this costume, I wasn't sure if anyone would ever actually make it because of the custom helmet. You've done a ton of work and it looks great! -

Armor I didn't bring over and why

I haven't been able to see the stuff I posted on the Imperial Navy Commando from The Force Unleashed. Is there a reason this was not brought over?
