  1. Yep. I removed the plastic stock and made a wood one to try and match the lenght of the props. I hope to buy me a real prop in the future but I guess this will do while I get the cash for that. Thanks.
  2. Gloves ready. And so is the suit!!! Need to add the chest lights but that will have to wait. A little more weathering and we shall see what happens.
  3. I'll try the paint and water for the jump suit and the tea with the flak vest. I actualle used a rubber glove and spayed my hand as a start on the jump suit, but I like your ideas better.
  4. Finished one glove, and replaced the velcros on both of them. This one of the things I thought I could do myself to save a little $$. Do any of you have a suggestion to dirty up a Flak Vest???
  5. Ok, This is the first trial and error phase, need to adjust the chest plates so they are closer to the flak vest when you look at them from the sides. Moving velcro to be closer to the edges and heating up the plates a little bit to bend them.
  6. I think the drooling is part of the process, I still drool everyttime I see a fett... Hope to have it ready by the end of the week...
  7. Updates. I mounted the Jetpack with its harnest. Tmorrow I will work on the armor. I have to put some snap botons to the back plate to keep it in place.
  8. Specially with the swearing part of it!!! I guess we are all kind of masochistic in our own fashion...but once I can wear the thing in will be worth it. Thanks bro!
  9. It is, I just would like to have more time to work with it. I usually only a go at the project at nights besides the time it has taken me to get the budget to purchase the parts I need. When I started I thought that I might be able to build it from scratch, but the project made me realize otherwise soon after. This will be my 5th attempt to get it done and Legion Approved...and to be honest with you, I had no idea this thing was so complicated, and if you ask me, it has to be one of the most complicated builds on the entire roster of characters for the legion. Thanks for your reply!
  10. Hey, So I've been working on this for a very long time and finally got the parts to finish. Just wanted to hear a feedback from you guys.
  11. Will do. Thanks again!!! Updated pictures comming up in a few days.
  12. Thanks man. And no, I am not using primer, just lots of paint to cover the black. What I am aiming for is that when it scratches it looks black underneath the paint. As for the color, its the light. The parts look just like the lid.
  13. Hey. It 's been a while. Ok, this project was supposed to be a stealth for my sister while she was mobilized in Afganistan, she's back now, thanks God, and she changed her mind to a Magma...so, here is the progress so far. It is wip and I just wanted to run it by you to see what you guys think about the color. I hope to have it ready in a few weeks. What do you think?
  14. With the one I am working on, I tried primer, clear coats, and several kinds of paints, for me, Harris Paint, Gloss, worked fine, no primer, just a lot of sanding to smooth the surface.
  15. I used to have the blue decals that come with the FX lid, now I have the eFX and my sister has the Hero Scootch, with silver lenses and black decals. Just love the way those look. But I guess it would be a matter of taste on the lenses.
  16. Thanks for the pics. Taking notes!!!! I loved the idea on how to cut the chest, awesome!
  17. Time for some oupdates. Yesterday, I could dedicate a strong 4 hours to this project, so I got a lot of things done!!!! Here are some pics. You need to have a radio, why, because putting together a TX with 80's music on the background is just cool. Even if it is a POC like mine!! lol. No to the serious stuff. This is what I use for cutting, thanks to my loving wife!!!! Tip: When cutting, try to cut from the inside, it usually will have lines you can use to follow while cutting, it will save you a lot of time since when the vacuum finishes, it leaves marks for us to use. Scootch's armor is super easy to cut. Sanding, like I said, the best sand paper is the one you have to wet before using. I had to sand this part because I scratched it by mistake. Sand and round the edges when done, make sure you remove all those nasty spikes that are left before you start painting. Don't panic!!!! If it is your first time using this sort of tools, I guess it would be good to know that because of the rotation applied to the plastic, it will actually burn just as much plastic as it is cutting, and this is fine, all that stuff can be removed by hand or by using a cutting tool, not with the edge, but using it sideways, kind of like scratching it, if you use the edge, it might slip and cut where you do not want to, the rest can be removed by using sand paper or even your fingers. Things to keep in mind. Use glasses and something to cover your mouth, this thing shoots out lots of pieces of plastic, small, but very hot!!!! and you do not want that in your eyes, and I assure you, the first 100 will land right there.... Another thing to keep in mind while using this tool for cutting, it is very precise, but the disks actually sands while cutting so, try to twist it, very slightly, away from the armor, if you do it the other way, it will cut over the line you are following and it will look uneven, it takes a little practice, so if you want to break some eggs first for this omelet, grab some plastic and trace circles, triangles and such on it and practice there, if not, you better call IZ and ask him for his hammer. This is how it looks like while you cut. I like hot glue, besides other things I use, but with everything you are gluing you need to know how this things work, a best practice is to scratch the surface where you are applying whatever glue you are using, this creates and uneven surface for the glue to stick too and guarantees it will last longer against bumps and things like that. I did it to the thermal before attaching the parts. Here is how I looks like. Thermal End Caps. You will probable need to cut these too, so what I did was to use tape to create an even circle, the hardest things for me is to cut round things, but this helps by giving you a line to follow. Finished Parts, all they need is some cleaning, and a little wax. The misty look is due to the paint particles floating around, so wear your mask. I am off to hunt for some parts I need, so I should have some new pics to share soon. Hope you like the progress so far!!
  18. Perfect, let me see if I can find that here. Oh, and I will keep a hammer close by!!
  19. Love the boot idea, do you think it would work with Red?? Also, what is the hammer for?
  20. Beautiful!!!!!! Is that ABS???? Sick Looking Armor, someone on the Empire most love you indeed, I still remember when I got"Sniff).....my(sniff, sniff).....kit.... I was like , and then , and then and but in the end, you will be like. but in black!!!! Enjoy bro, and do take your time!! and post pictures!!
