For those not yet aware I’m basing this discovery on photos of screen used armor, as well as several Lucasfilm licensed action figures, statues, ect. Every single example I can find in-fact. Remember Lucasfilm does 3D scans of characters in costume then supplies them directly to companies like Hasbro for creating action figures and such.
Anovos would have also received the same 3D scans for creating these promotional statues for the release of Rogue One, not to mention the Death Trooper armor prototype they advertised but never produced.
This is all we can see of the Kidney plate on the Anovos statue which Jintalol has replicated very accurately! 👌
However we know there is another trapezoidal shape at the top of the kidney plate, hidden under the backplate overlap. It tapers outwards because we can see it on the screen used armor.
There is also a wider groove separating this hidden trapezoid overlap from the rest of the kidney plate.
This same shape from the Helmet also appears to be on the hidden trapezoid.
Every example I can find of this trapezoid overlap exposed has this exact detail on the right side.
There are even more examples of this but I will not post them all here. You can also see the angle of the trapezoid aligns with the grooves on the upper back plate in every example. So we use the grooves on the Anovos statue as a reference angle.
Anyways this is one of the main constructive criticisms I had for this armor if you can even call it that, and even then it was only due to a lack of information. Which I was well prepared with because I had already done my research and was in contact with another owner of one of these Anovos statues for many years prior to this. His main concern that prevented him from creating armor with it was these unseen overlapping areas. Jintalol has already captured any details in the Bicep/Shoulder Bell overlap, and the Abdomen/Chest overlap perfectly which were the only other two overlapping areas of concern.
