  1. It certainly is possible... but it's also quite expensive. 3d printing costs are per volume, both in time and materials. Plus 3d printed stuff generally isn't as strong or durable as vacuum formed stuff. On the other hand, if you just want one costume, and you've got the budget, and access to a 3d printer with a large enough volume... yeah! You can totally print yourself some armor!
  2. Hey there! I'm the guy who made the models. They aren't really designed for 3d printing, though I could probably make a 3d printing version fairly easily. Were you interested in directly printing the armor itself, or printing the mold positives? Or printing casting negatives? Contact me at dudecon@hotmail.com and we'll work out the details. As long as it's okay with Shaggy, I don't see any problems with sending you the models.
  3. Very cool! That is a huge amount of work. How thick is the rondo layer? Are you going to add more in the corners to round it out, or just sand down the flats? I'm mostly thinking of the concave section of the curve over and in front of the ear. Have you considered getting a little handheld orbital sander for the large sections? I hope you're wearing a mask, that dust can't be healthy. Keep at it! I've been following this thread for a while now. Quite enjoying seeing the process in detail.
