Just wondering what some common base boots are and if there's a tutorial anywhere that goes through making your own scout boots. Would love to just make them myself if possible.

I think I way have found a way to save money on the boots but wanted to see what others peoples thoughts were. I was wondering if I could get some cheap rain boots that were the right height, then go around the outside of the boots with vinyl and add the tab on the bridge of the foot to match the CRL. Any thoughts on why this will or won't work would be appreciated.
