Oh the lights... Not in the right spot AT ALL. lol. The broken wire. I'll have to try to shave some of the black silicone that is caked on the entire LED assembly in order to fix it. Here's hoping. Filling in the holes.
-
The Rocket pack.... Where to begin. As I said that pack was damaged, roughly printed and needed to be repainted. The spacer (between the main pack and exhaust ports) is so flimsy that it is unable to properly support the exhaust ports to the main pack. It's wrong compared to the reference photos, so I will have to remake one. The two lights on the top of the fuel canister are in the wrong spot (need to fill the hole and move them). 1. Make and 3D print a correct and accurate spacer for the main pack and exhaust ports. 2. Fill and sand entire pack. Prep for paint. 3. Fit broken parts. 4. Fill in previous holes left by lights on fuel canister and cut out new ones. 5. Add seam to fuel canister by lights. 6. Fix broken light wires (came this way). 7. Add bolts to "I O" pack plate that way I can secure it to the armour back plate. 8. PAINT entire pack. Adding some filler: The old supports: 3D printed NEW supports:

I still have to add the blue stripping, but I'm going to wait until the paint is all dried before I tackle that part. The helmet still needs the lenses, mess and padding.

The Mohawk: CrookKnight was awesome enough to include one with the pack. Of course it didn’t fit my WTF helmet, but that’s nothing a little heat gun and filler can’t fit. The trick was making sure I lined everything up, which took a lot of time. I think I spent over a two weeks working on the Mohawk. Helmet: Painting Time! Initially I was going to make it all Level 2, but seeing how the COVID-19 has shut everything down and I’m unable to get the vinyl decals made, I decided to hand paint everything. As per the reference photos, I painted the grey to match the hoses.
-
The GREY hose. I was luck and found a hose and fitting distributor in my area and they had the right hose. Painted the required white to the one side and good to go!
-
The Chest Box Still my favourite part of the build. I have made a few of these in my day (I love my TIE's).
-
Believe it or not, putting the white trim around the armour was not my favourite part. Nope, not at all! I'm glad it's done.

Shoulder Bell: Painting the shoulder bell out doors in the winter is never a good idea, but the alternative is getting the wife mad with all the paint fumes inside the house…lol. The vinyl cog that I had is way too small, so I had to freehand and paint the cog directly on the shoulder bell.

I have put all my other builds on hold until this one is complete. Seeing how I have been working on this one since Sept 2018, before the CRL was finished, I thought that its about time. I have been documenting my build in word file and taking photos (when I remember) knowing that I would eventually make a WIP thread when I had the time to sit down and post. I did have some issues with a few parts, mostly the Rocket pack, which I paid for in September 2018 and did not receive it until February 11th 2020. The pack arrived with some broken parts which occurred during shipping. The paint jobs was not the best and there are a few issues related to accuracy overall, but everything can be fixed and repainted. I’m just glad that it finally arrived.

It's been a while since I had the time to work on my DT. I ordered EL Panels from "EL Wire Craft"in the UK (links provided below). I'm hoping that I will have time this month to finish my helmet. On another note, I finally finished printing the DLT-19X files. Man there's a lot of parts to print. https://elwirecraft.co.uk/product/el-panel-2-4cm-x-4-5cm/ https://elwirecraft.co.uk/product/basic-portable-driver-for-up-to-5-metres-of-el-wire/ https://elwirecraft.co.uk/product/standard-splitter-for-el-wire-or-el-tape-2-way-up-to-6-way/

It's been a busy October. I got a hold of Tom Campbell and bought the DLT-19D files. I started to print them, but it's going to take some time as it bigger then I thought. I can't wait to see it once it's complete. All the leather work is done, dyed/painted and ready to go. I do have to say that I have learned tons working on this build. I started putting the belt together a few weeks ago but I think I will need to put something on the back of the rubber belt to make it sturdier and more ridged. I will add photos when I have a few seconds.

I got a hold of Tom and bought the files from him. I can't wait to start printing and making my DLT-19D.

The link is for the wall mounts. I have the DLT-19 files already, but I’m looking for the parts to make it into the DLT-19D so I can use it for my DT.
-
Has anyone tried printing these files out? I have tried a few times to contact Tom Campbell without any success. https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/games-toys/toys/dlt-19d-blaster-rifle -thanks

Awesome, I have been looking for these patches for a while now. Order placed.
-
Awesome! Thanks Chris I totally appreciated it.
-
That turned out amazing. I would love the STL. Thanks.
-
Awesome, thanks.
-
Does anyone know where I can find the DLT-19D STL files to print?
-
Thanks for the heads up. Should be an easy fix.

For my boots I made a leather strap that goes over the islet hole in the boots and attached velco to the leather. This way I don't have to glue anything to my boots and can wear them out of costume. If you click on my WIP link you can see how I made them.

https://www.drmartens.com/ca/en_ca/p/mens-boots-brando-talib There’s different ways to attach the covers to your boots. Just go through peoples WIP (work in progress) threads in the Death Trooper section within the forum. https://www.endorfinders.com/costume-accessories/rogue-one-trooper-gloves As for the soft parts. I’m making everything, minus the hard ribbed sections (ribbed mat supplied from 850 with the kit-I just need to trim to size). The best thing to do is to start a WIP post and write down all of the components. That way you can see what you have, need and is completed. Here’s my WIP thread for reference.

I did buy the helmet from 850. It’s a resin helmet so all I did was drill out the holes to add my LEDs. For the boots bought them off the Doc Marten website: Doc Martens Talib Gloves: Endor Finders. Awesome gloves!! I will be making most of my soft parts, so I can help you there.

I'm currently working on my 850 DT and so far I have no complaints. I personally like ABS compared to FG & 3D Printed. I has been really easy to deal with and my kit was shipped the next day. Extremely fast shipping. I will definitely be buying another kit from them again.
