I currently have a waltz black ABS scout kit. I actually want to do it and make it flat black or a satin. In order to do this should I scuff off the gloss that is naturally already on the ABS? Trying to figure out a good way to start because I need to do it in order to get it ready for straps but I don't want to do it wrong cuz replacements are expensive and I don't have a whole lot of money at the moment.
Any steps or hints would be very greatly appreciated. I've never converted a piece that's naturally glossy to a matte or satin finish. I was going to coat with a satin clear coat but I didn't know if that would be enough to take the shine off of the gloss by itself.
Greetings!
It has been a rough couple of months, but I am back and trying to get some work done on this kit! I have a WTF Shadow Scout kit. I am going to be referencing as many other threads as I can but I am sure I will have some questions.
I plan to document the build here, so it should be a fun journey.
I do have a silly question.... Do you scuff up your shiny armor before priming and painting for the matte paint?
More to come soon
Hi all!
Very excited to expand my costume collection with a TX. I got a WTF kit and trying to find good Trim/assembly tutorials so I can get started. The links to videos I saw in other areas of the forum seem to be dead. Can anyone please supply some good resources for it? Thank you in advance!!!!
