I tried doing a search, but I’m not having much luck finding current vendors. Who is making finished, pre painted CRL compliant helmets these days? I also have a big noggin (24”) at the brow.

Did anyone ever get details on this helmet? I’m wanting other options besides the one that came with my fiberglass kit. I sent a message to the vendor, but haven’t heard back. (It’s a weekend)

I may be missing it, but I’m not seeing the references or images for how the actual straps were done on the shore trooper? The link goes to a gallery and what I guess is a storefront for downloads. I have the Jim Tripon armor and undersuit- I’m trying to understand the corset concept you guys are referring to. Is this to get the chest and back to “float” over the abdomen/thorax?

Yes it came with the backs. I got the belt kit from Andy McClary, but it was a bit of a wait and some lack of communication on his part. I haven't selected paint, but I'm using Duplicolor Hi-Build 2 in 1 for primer. It's been on hold for the past few months while I worked other projects. My priority is to figure out a harness rig for wearing it.

As for paint and such, there's lots of opinions out there (especially on the FB Death Trooper group), but for me I'm leaning towards an automotive finish that has some flex in base and clear coats. I think it will be more durable and not crack from bending while putting it on etc. I also want as smooth and shiny of a finish as possible- not a fan of the weathering. MY personal opinion is that these guys were elite and took car of their gear. One role they performed was bodyguard/security detail - I was selected and worked as a Protective Service Agent and can say from experience that none of us were slobs. Gear, vehicles and equipment were kept in top condition. That "battle worn" stuff didn't cut it. At best, it only applies when one is camouflaging your gear, these guys aren't. I also look to the screen images where the stuff is so glossy that water beads on it...

The body parts are all here! Sorry- having trouble getting the insert image from URL to work...[Fixed it!!] Can anyone recommend a good primer (lots of scratches to deal with) and paint? I have an airbrush and will be using Spray Max 2K high gloss topcoat. Just waiting (forever) for the belt kit from Plastic Arms Dealer... TBH, I'm not impressed with their customer service. No acknowledgement of my order, and it took multiple Etsy and FB Messages to get a reply on the initial delay.

Score! I was able to find an original mint pair of Doc Martin "Jered" boots in size 13 US- with tags https://photos.app.goo.gl/EbNferTAN1pyRb1p8 In more good news- my armor from Jim Tripon should be shipping soon! I'll be bugging folks about build and assembly.

I may get flamed for this- but I am brand new to 3D printing - as in just unboxed and set up my first ever this week new- a Creality Ender5+. Just getting it set up to where it now prints reasonable models has been a steep learning curve. After a few random test pieces, I decided to give it go with printing the weapons files that I got from Tom Campbell, and that's where the fun really began! the 1st print fell over and turned to spaghetti- so on the next (below) I added a raft- but that means even more cutting and sanding. After some painful clicking and searching i figured out how to rotate the model and drop it to the bed onto a flat side. I will now attempt to print it. I'm trying to eat the elephant in really big bites I suppose. It is apparent that each file has to be configured for my printer- or printing in general. How many of you went through this already and which slicer /software did you use? I have Simplify3D- so if you know or saved the settings you used to print the parts with, that would be awesome! Any 3D printing suggestions in general are welcome...

@Chaos and/or other CRL folks: What happens if Imperial Boots can only make up to 12.5 and you need at least a 13? I also can't find Doc Martens Talib in a 13 or 13.5, or practically anywhere...in any size!

I'll have to check them out. I wound up ordering a full belt kit from Plastic Arms Dealers on Etsy. I'll add pics and review to the thread once it arrives.

Sorry to bother, but what 3D printer do you use, or at least what are the specs? I'm researching/shopping and want to get one that has a build area and specs to handle printing helmet and armor parts.
