  1. Love seeing spec ops in groups, and definite coolness vote for couples. Completely agree with the team above, also, one nuance to note with matte versus gloss is that certain pieces need to contrast: Upper Arm Armor Armor has a recessed area with a contrasting black "T-bit" detail attached within. Helmet Scout style helmet accurate in shape and form. Eye lens is black, dark green or silver mirrored. Helmet is painted to match armor. Flat or concave elevator bolts. Helmet may have scout detailing or left plain. If detailing is present, it is black. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Ear holes are correctly shaped and have no mesh. Black 3M Speedglas bolts or replicas are concave and mount the faceplate to the helmet. (Visible bolt head diameter of 22mm). Accurate snout detail and aerator with accurate parts, mounted onto a plate and painted a contrasting black to the helmet. Back Armor The back armor has a center tank attached. The top of the tank is flat with a detail piece painted black. Top detail piece uses the same greeblies as seen on the screen-used ROTJ Biker Scout armor. Top detail piece is painted matte black. The tank has contrasting black stripe detail. Optional: Additional "rank indicators" present on the right side of the tank, can number between 0 to 6 stripes.
  2. Hello Gree23! Definitely create a build thread, link below, and we can add our feedback and comments as you progress. We love to see how our new members are progressing with their builds and are here to support. https://forum.specops501st.com/forum/161-shadow-scout/ In terms of your question, the following are the specifics for the back armor: Back Armor The back armor has a center tank attached. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Back and Tank must be two separate parts, no single part back/tank plates will be admissible. Only 1, 4 or 6 stripes on tank are acceptable. Bullet tank on the back armor has accurate greeblie tank topper detail. Tank topper is a separate greeblie to the tank itself. Tank topper is secured with single black colored rivet in the center of the greeblie. Rear tank has properly placed pin striping and a single bottom attachment black rivet. Blinking lights or LED's on the bullet tank are not acceptable. This is one of the areas that the CRL between the ROTJ Scout and Shadow Scout deviate. There is no mention nor requirement to have an elastic for the Shadow Scout back tank. Additionally, for completeness, it should be noted that under the ROTJ Scout, the elastic, similar to the attachment methods above, are optional for level 2 only. I hope this helps.
  3. Welcome and good luck! Definitely keep us up to date on your progress and feel free to ask for any advise / help!
  4. Great feedback thank you! Quite a few comments can be eliminated once I learn to dress myself properly ? I'll touch up the rivet as you noted above, silly omission on my part. As above - need to learn to dress myself properly and confirmed, curved stitch, not chevron detail. Its a black turtle neck style underarmor, but a proper balaclava is en-route ? Yes indeed - I'll be sure to include pics of these Thank you very much! Delighted with the feedback
  5. Greetings Spec Ops! I am close to completing my shadow scout for basic approval and would appreciate some additional feedback. I've worked closely with another Ireland Garrison GML for peer review and received some amazing feedback which is in progress. Would appreciate the group's thoughts on going for Specialist, following basic approval, and whether much of a lift would be needed on my kit; Images below; https://imgur.com/a/lE7hhLD
