Some questions on the harness system you built to hold up the thighs and ab/back. Is there any reason you built a second harness for the abdomen/lower back instead of just gluing/sewing the straps to the tops of the shoulder on the thigh harness? You could still make them adjustable like you have them, but instead of having a second harness, it could all be integrated into one. I am building a thigh harness now (ran out of 2" nylon) and was going to toy with the idea of mounting the ab/back to it and see how it turned out. I am thinking about having the female end hang from the top of the shoulder with just enough slack so it doesn't get crushed by the chest armor, then putting the male end coming off the ab/back. I could leave a lot of extra nylon as needed on the male end as it will naturally hang under the ab which in turn gives it a lot of flexibility to go up and down as needed. Alternatively, the female could be right off the ab like you did and the slack would go over my shoulders or tuck under and require minimal sewing at the top of the shoulder. I know you have your ab section soft goods attached to your ab/back so that may be why it wouldn't work for you, but thought I'd run it by you to see if there was something else obvious I may have missed or not thought of. -

Can I ask how you trimmed your thigh armor? I read the whole thing and it says you pulled about 2" off the thighs. What is the best way to trim up the fiberglass and hopefully not destroy the paint job? And thank you for the document! I am going to try and find something to put on the bottom of my abdomen as I don't have a 3D printer and the center section is "deep" because of the external shape. -

I got around to making a new belt as the old one had a bunch of snaps on it that would have been clearly visible. How did I do for placement and such? The only items screwed into place are the buckle and small boxes, all pouches and the holster can move as needed. Also, how do you keep the belt from falling down? I can't seem to keep it under the abdomen, it keeps working its way down. I thought about adding some nylon straps with buttons so it connects directly to the abdomen, but that seems like overkill. Maybe I just need to tighten it up a bit? It was slightly loose when I took these as I had to dress myself. Do you attach the codpiece to it or let that hang? I also have a TON more belt material. Thinking about cutting it to length and selling my spare cheap in case anyone else needs any. -

So I did a test paint on a plastic container to see how the TS-40 would look before I try to repaint one section of my armor. Thoughts on how it turned out? I think the color is a great match, but the armor is slightly shinier. I am not sure if that is due to the differences in material or if the armor was clear coated. -

I got in the supplies today so I can remake my belt. The one I have has too many buttons on it and is a little too thick. I am going to cut myself a new length (and have some extra), and put a nylon belt inside the rubber so it fits better. I plan on following the guide (mostly) that was linked way at the top of my thread. This will also allow me to change the method of attachment for the small boxes and the buckle. They are currently screwed in (boxes), and button snaps (buckle). I plan on replacing it all with Chicago screws. I also like the idea of adhering the top of this to my abdomen rather than the bottom of this to the top of the codpiece (current belt). Depending on how it lays, I may attach the cod as well just so everything stays in place, but that's an easy fix later. I also got in my paint so I can repaint the chest piece to hopefully fix the big scrape on there. Going to have to test the paint on something else first to make sure it matches up with the rest of the non gloss black stuff. The smaller bag is a new sling swivel stud as the one of my blaster apparently fell off at some point so I am going with a slightly more permanent solution by bolting it in, just have to figure out how to get the bolt down the barrel and then hold onto it. -

If you’ve got the resin and it’s good, I would certainly appreciate the pieces. -

Ahh, i wasn’t aware that was an option. If I decide to build myself another rifle, any chance I could get you to print the same pieces for me? -

What did you use for the yellow light covers? I know I can mount LEDs behind them but what about the light housing itself? -

Other questions. 1. Can you share the Sterling SMG magazine print files? 2. What sources did you use for the electronics? Mostly looking at the bowtie lighting and the yellow lights, but any sources on any/all of it would be appreciated. 3. is your print resin or something else? -

That’s what I was thinking of doing as well. Did you print it yourself? Or get someone else to? I don’t have a 3D printer so I’d have to get someone else. For the magazine, I was thinking about embedding the innards of a power bank so it was rechargeable. -

Anyone know of a vendor that sells hollow E-11D blasters? The one I have isn’t hollow so I can’t run wiring and stuff through it. I saw MCM has 3D print files available and it looks like one of the variants is hollow but wasn’t sure if anyone has experience with it. -

I was told it was a Jim Tripon kit when I got it. It’s fiberglass if that matters. The helmet looks to be resin cast as well (as far as I can tell). thank you for looking!! -

@Chaos Here's your tag! I think it would be great one day to try for Level 2 for my DT (after I get it fitted properly for me and get basic). I know the pictures are not approval quality, but would you be able to look it over and see if there are any glaringly obvious errors/flaws in the parts that would prevent me from going that route? I know the devil is in the details, but if there are gross errors like "your armor is missing detail X, you'll have to buy new stuff", that would be good to know now rather than later. I did look over the CRL L2 requirements and it looks like it has all of the major parts (from my untrained eye). -Colors should match the Color Scheme Guide -Bubbled lens is on order -Nose bridge has the 6,8,9 vent pattern (the 9 is a bit harder to see, but present) -Rubber seal around neck on helmet -All gaskets are sewn, not stamped, and keep their appearance even when arms are bent and armor is on -Rubber straps on neck are adjustable so I can move them around to meet the needs for the inward tilt -Back details look to be present with the right quantities/locations -Thermal det cannister has the grooves -Shoulder bells were brought in a bit to be closer to the neck -I am not weathering anything, so all grooves will be gloss black -Forefingers have the cutout -Shins have the detailing and cutouts -Shoes have pulltab on mid back -Covers are a little wide maybe(?) Thank you for any input and help you provide! -

Great info! Other than reading the CRL a lot and looking over the approved threads for DT L2, do you have any other suggestions on how best to prepare to go through the process? Common errors or things people miss? -

Today I got around to repainting the areas where there was paint scraped off or other scrapes/scuffs. I am not an artist by any stretch of the word, but I think the touch ups turned out OK. Other than close inspection, I think they cover the damage nicely. All of these are before/after photos. Abdomen Lower Back Left/Right Thigh Bicep Shin Top/Bottom Gauntlet Belt Pouch Covers -

I'll look at the alignment better the next time I suit up. I have a decent bit of room to rotate them for fit. I didn't realize how crooked they were. As for trimming, these are fiberglass so I am not sure the best way to do that. A full armor fit check will probably happen next week as I am gone this weekend. Based on my last upper body fit check though, I think they will be OK together. I redid all of the fit stuff on the upper armor to fit my body and had little trouble there. -
SE-14R - Circuit card sticker / decal providers or file?
dogbertwrldrulr replied to MarcG's topic in Imperial Death Trooper
On the sticker. Is the side we can see supposed to be silver/gray? It looks like reflective chrome on the sticker that isn't attached but more white on the one that is. Also sent you a PM requesting the file. -

That's what I thought. One other question. Looking at the CRL, I get where all the lights go except this one: Working red LEDs fitted into the prongs of the counter unit are optional. Is this supposed to be the red border outside the yellow squares behind the magazine attachment? Or somewhere else? -

Got my small velcro in yesterday as well as a few other things. Shins. I reduced the size of the velcro across the back from 3/4 to 1/2 to give me a little more room around the ankle as between the socks, shoes, cover, undersuit and armor, it was getting pretty tight. This helped a decent bit, but I am hoping my new socks will help more as they are a lot thinner. I also need to hem the pants up a bit as they are about 3-4 inches too long on me. Here is a front and back of me in my lower half stuff after all my updates so far. I know the right shin is misaligned in the back, but I suited up myself and will fix in the future. I am wondering if my thighs might need to be turned in a bit as the openings in the back don't really align with the natural bend of my leg. I would have to align the shins then and that may be an issue as they have almost no wiggle room. Armor. I changed out the velcro on the sides of the chest piece where it connects to the back. There was not a lot of coverage there and it kept coming loose on me so I put in 1-1/2" strips on both sides. Holds great now and sits pretty evenly on both sides. I also finished the strapping between the abdomen->cod and lower back->posterior. i think they fit my frame much better now and when the under strap is connected everything sits perfectly on my body. Shoes. I added gel insoles to help with heel comfort which helped a TON for walking around. They have always been a little tight so I will likely order a new pair when imperial boots opens their run back up next month. Kinda stinks as the ones I have are actual Dr. Martens Gauntlets. Similar to the shins, I reduced the amount of velcro on the closure to give me a little more room in the forearms. They are still a little hard to attach myself, but with some assistance I think they will be perfect. Pauldron. Got it on order and it should hopefully be here in a week or so. Next up is to try and touch up the paint where the armor rubbed it off and fit check the full upper body armor now that all the strapping has been updated. -
