Have been wondering about the hoses.

Anaheim pics show only one main hose coming from the tank that leads into the gun. The second hose loops back under the tank.

The newer Disney Studios (?) pics show the two hoses going into the sleeve, then joining close to the handle.

Interesting as I never noticed the 2 hose setup until now. I see it in the screen grabs but on one of the suits I have pics of it's not there. Different set up all together. Hmmm...what to do? Looks like they ran the second hose up the middle.

How about this light on the transmitter? (Top circle in the 2nd photo) It's consistent throughout the scene. Looking at display photos, I can't tell where the light may be coming from.

I hadn't noticed that before. I agree with your good catch. There are two rivet-thingies on the receiver box. If one were to drill small holes in each of those, the red light could shine through in that exact spot.

And another new light on the tanks. Really though to figure out where this may be coming from. I can only see it for a few frames. And can't see it after he ignites the thrower. Tracing the spot to the last frame we can see the dot in the second picture.

Should mention the arrow in the first picture. That part looks a little to bright to be catching the light emitting from the bottom of that tank. Can't be sure at all about it. Can only see it for 2 or 3 frames from the video I have.

So.....I think something has been missed on the back of the helmet, the indent is supposed to have a black stripe. I just noticed this and I am having a hard time uploading the pic onto here.

Yup I see it...in at least 2 of the pics.  Is it black or grey?  Hard to tell for me.

Is that an entirely different variant? I'm new to this thread.

It's a good spot Torri - I dont think any of us picked it up as part of our builds.

It would be good to see what the BF2 version has on it's details - I know the lid has the indent and maybe it was added to just show this detail and dont think it was ever picked up originally as the tanks tend to cover this part of the lid.

I would think the group shot was likely CGI and maybe added afterwards ?

Be good to see if we need to add it or not or whether it's a case of adding shadow to the indent - difficult to pick out on these.

Firing up BF2 isnt a bad idea. Forgot one was in there

Ok so the fun part about this is that it is black and can even be seen on the Anaheim mannequin trooper. I have been digging through all of my pics of it. It shows in a few more on screen pics as well. I want to try to get my kit as a level two, so if there is anything different, I want to be able to make it as accurate as I can possibly make it.

So not sure if anyone has touched in on this subject, but can we make a level two for the flame? I have been working hard on my kit to make it high level, even spotting the black line on the back of the helmet, but haven’t seen anyone try for it or write it up. Would love to have a specialist costume. ;)

I'd like to see a stage 2 - but what else would you add ??

Yes the black line on the lid - but what else ?? I suppose you could add electronics to the tanks and flamethrower so they light up ? but dont know the extra details you could add in reality as the armour is pretty comprehensive and for screen accuracy there is a huge amount of material to review ??

@Scubacat I agree.  Goal is to get Level 2 on all of our CRLs where possible (not just housed here at the forums).  Anyone is allowed to write the proposal for review.  Maybe you can work alongside @Jeditid @Yiyoand others to come up w/ something???  Would be open to that.  Write up the proposal and then all of us (authors, CRL team, and command) can review it.

@Jeditid Good question.  Are there known parts that can be added as Level 2?  Nitty gritty details that would separate a costume from being accurate (Level 2) to having an accurate look (Level 1)?

Yeah I dont know of any found parts as such as a lot of the costume we believe was 3D printed from scratch and the tanks - well if they were real ? would be highly engineered for the purpose of fire ;)

I think you'd have to start with the missed detail on the lid - then I would honestly look at electronics for the lights in the tanks and then do a complete overhaul of the tanks assembly, as that would be where the main "detail" is going to be in my opinion ??

One of the things I could think of would be for example a clear "oval" frame for the tanks.

I'd need to go over the whole CRL and pull out pieces that you could start to get technical with. The hose coupler on to the tanks is another as you could specify this, and so on....

Any thoughts if this is the route to go ??

Yes that sounds like a possible route.  Level 2 can specify measurements/measurement ranges on things details, strapping, etc. as well.  Something to consider.

I too would need to look at it but a builder like yourself would def have better knowledge of where things can be zeroed in on for accuracy.

If you’re cool w it, give it a look and see what you can come up with.

I believe there is a good amount of things we could add for lever two. Electronics on the tank for the six “holes” would be one. Second set of electronics would be on the blaster itself along with metal tips and a metal protruding rod where the hand grip is. I haven’t seen anyone add it to their build yet, but in reality I can see the part breaking off all the time. Second part on the tanks for level two could be actual rubber tubing that is connected near the  gage. We could also have the gage as a part.

One yhing that is being being discussed constantly seems to be the black pouch that is seen on I believe two figures. It is not seen on any of the screen used kits that I have seen so far.

Most parts were in fact 3D printed or heavily Engineered or made from scratch. A while back I happened to be at a convention with one of the flametrooper costume actors. I sadly hadn’t thought to pick his brain much other than a few facts. He wasn’t even that busy at the time.

One fact that has racked my my brain is if there are lights or not on the radio antennae box.

We could also also add the screws that are seen all over on the kit as a level 2. Other than that I think that is it. Possibly the hose and the gas quick connect?

Overall sounds good.  Level 2 is shooting for that higher level of accuracy...for that, I think we can leave the pouch off if it's only seen on action figures.  Stick to the screen-used references...maybe stretch it to BF2 at most (I don't see us creating a separate BF2 Flametrooper CRL).  Other than that, I think you all are on the right track.  Just need someone to step up and draft the update proposal.  So who's up for it??? ?
