IcyTrooper[CMD-DL]
I've been trooping in my Anovos TK for a bit now and finally got around to trimming out all of the pieces of this TX, but need a tip or two for marking trim lines (when fitting). I tried a pencil on it but obviously that is a little harder to see on the black with lighting, so I'm seeing what everyone else did to make the lines visible? I've seen painters tape and lines to mark it, but not sure if there was another trick. I was thinking chalk may work too but don't want to do permanent silver marker just in case the plastic has any holes. Link to comment

Hey Ryan, well if you still have the protective coating intact use a fine point silver sharpie. Mark on the coating, once finished discard. Without the coating I guess you can still use the sharpie just remember to trim outside the line discarding the scrap plastic with the sharpie line. Hope this helps Link to comment
IcyTrooper[CMD-DL]
Hey, Tony! Thanks for the response. I didn't even think about just marking it further in and trimming on the outside of the end so that the scrap piece retained the silver marking, that is a good idea. Sometimes the simplest explanations are the ones we don't even think about haha...luckily I still have the coating on most of it. Thanks again! Link to comment

Chaos[CMD-DCA]
Just a hint on using sharpie pens, if you are concerned about ink residue, a dry erase marker ran across the sharpie ink removes the ink, then you just have to wipe the dry erase marker off with clean rag. 1 Link to comment

Heck I used a black sharpie to repaint the side rivet heads when the paint was scratched off. Works great 2 Link to comment

Helmet Accuracy modifications: So I'm going to jump ahead here a bit and talk about the helmet. As with the ANOVOS OTTK armor there were some areas of the helmet that are not accurate in the OTTK world like the ear screws that come flat head but should be "V" head and slotted. The Hovi tip screens are also too fine and should be a bit more course. I didn't like the tube stripe color either which was glossy black and barely recognizable, and finally I wanted to clean up the Vcoder lines and extend the frown past the last tooth as seen with ANH Stunt Centurion armor. From what I've read in the CRL none of these will prevent you from being approved "Specialist", though I could be wrong. Anyway in the next four sections I'll illustrate how to update these areas. 13a. Frown and Ear Screws First remove the ears. Since I'll be replacing the screws as mentioned above there's no better time than now get started. NOTE: Save the ear screws as you'll need them for the Thermal Detonator accuracy update we'll be performing a bit later. Using paint thinner remove the old tube stripes. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y200/ukswrath1/Anovos%20Shadow%20TK/Helmet/Tube%20stripe%20updates/IMG_8501.jpg Remove the internal padding exposing the screw nuts. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y200/ukswrath1/Anovos%20Shadow%20TK/Helmet/Ear%20screws/IMG_8503.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y200/ukswrath1/Anovos%20Shadow%20TK/Helmet/Tube%20stripe%20updates/IMG_8506.jpg Install tube stripe stencils (purchased from Trooperbay). Place the the tube stencils so the the edge of the tube stripe itself will be roughly a #2 pencil width distance from the face and the most forward stripe is roughly near the front face Hovi tip socket. As mentioned before the ear screws are incorrect and will be replace with "V" head slot screws. I purchased 6 "V" head screws with a 6.5mm head (which is close to screen accurate and used with the OTTK armor). http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y200/ukswrath1/Anovos%20Shadow%20TK/Helmet/Ear%20screws/IMG_0141.jpg Drill out the existing holes to accommodate the new screw shafts which slightly larger.
