Allan1313's Shadow Trooper build

Recommended Posts

I didn't realize that the chest armor can double for Imperial Gunner...that's cool. Thanks!

Yeah the chest and backplate can be used for the Gunner. There are 6 different configurations for the gunner and that is one of them.

Requested them through live chat.

Thanks. I will hut them up today. I have one other issue I need to talk to them about. This is my view through my lenses:

They got a good amount of glue on the lens and its tough to see through it.

I am going to talk to their chat today and see what they can do. I don't need a new helmet, just the lenses really.

So I have been busy the last few days and I have managed to trim everything.

I stared to to glue some pieces as well. Started with the biceps and forearms. Then ran out of clamps and magnets haha

This morning before work I also painted the TD tube. They sent a gray one, the same one they use for the TK. Painted it gloss black and will do another coat or 2 before I am done.

Making some good progress.

Thanks. Yeah the black is VERY shiny. It catches all my fingerprints for sure too.

It does make their white armor seem real dull.

So I haven't updated the build in a few days, but I have been using any spare time here and there to get things done.

I have completed the biceps, forearms, and glues the ab buttons on the cod piece.

I painted the TD clips black.

I started to work on the thighs. I got the front cover strips glued on.

I glued in my snap plates and made my connecting straps for just about the entire armor.

Lastly I have glued the shoulder straps to the chest plate.

Pretty good progress so far. The last big hurdle will be the calves.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was pretty lax with updating my build. When I get going I get caught up and forget to take pictures.

Well I have completed it and submitted it to my GML for approval. Here are some of my finished pictures.

I have some armor bites I need to take care of and I would like to fix my bicep strapping a bit, they are sitting a little funky.

Thanks! Will definitely be fixing those biceps.

Once approved I am also going to get a shadow team up and running in the Empire City Garrison.

I am in the process of building an Anovos TX as well. Out of curiosity, did you use the strapping and hardware that came in the BBB or did you replace it all?

I didn't use any of the supplied Anovos strapping. I went with snaps and straps. I know some people that have used it, but I am not a fan of having Velcro in all those places. Velcro is great for some things, I just don't want it to fail or move around on me.

I did use the supplied Velcro for the back of the calves though.

I thought I might share this here, because I love this picture.

So I went to NYCC last week, I was originally going to go as a Gunner because I wasn't fully satisfied with the build yet and had no fans in my bucket. My buddy convinced me at 5:30 am to skip the Gunner and bring the Shadow. While waiting in line to get in I hastily installed some fans in my bucket and away we go. One of my garrison mates had a photographer friend take some pictures as we did the march of the 501st at comicon. Theses pictures made it worth it.

Aside from my belt sagging, the kit held up well, a few armor bites here and there, but not much needs to be done besides fixing the biceps and replacing the god awful Anovos belt.

This kit is super shiny!!!

Now I need to go start my kill count, #1 in the books!
