Mbullen64
We have been working this since the BBB arrived in August. I have to gather and organize the photos for you. A note: because of some cost issues we went with the the Anovos strapping for now. Here are some torso shots: I hope these come through. We'd be done with the thighs but for the gremlins that keep messing with us. In a nut shell I need more magnets. Let us know your thoughts. Mbullen64
Having so much fun with the thigh armor. I was able to borrow additional magnets from another, local friend and member of the 501st. They are providing a better grip on the plastic. let's see how it goes. patience is one of my virtues. 1 Link to comment
Darth Emphatic[CMD-DWM]
Hang in there - it will come together and be awesome in the end. I do recommend putting a piece of tape on the armor where you put the magnet just to protect a bit from impressions. You might already be doing this, but I wanted to put it out there. 1 Link to comment
Mbullen64
Thank you for the comments so far. This being our first build, I can totally sympathize with those who have first cut anxiety. Every Piece I cut into, I would sit and agonize over what to do if I cut wrong. The build is about 85% complete. Once I remember how I uploaded my previous photos I will start to up load the build photos. Link to comment
mikidymac
Looking great. I too am in the Rogue One time crunch for my wife's Anovos shadow build. Make sure you have all your undergarments and boots on when fitting the armor and blue painter's tape is great for fitment checks before gluing. 1 Link to comment
Mbullen64
Finally, Let me know if this link I am sharing works. There are still a few tweaks to be made, but this is where we are as of today. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/skt15w8w79gsmbb/AACgKTg8rl0Xm5aLq3bqPm1Da?dl=0 Link to comment
Mbullen64
We paid a visit to Gary Collins, of the Makase Squad, to get his input. He took time out to look at Spencer's build. We are looking good. Thank you Gary. You have been making this go a lot easier than it would have. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk Link to comment
Mbullen64
One of the things I needed to take care of is rebuilding the Anovos Belt. The first task was to tear down the belt. There was only a minor casualty a 2mm hole opened in one of the three button covers when I was removing it from the six pack. Once all the plastic parts were safely removed, I used a stitch ripper to remove the stitching from the end of the belt, then removed the stitching from the 2"x6" velcro strip located between the end of the belt and the six pack. Doing this gave me access to the inside of the belt. A sleeve ~43.5" x 2.5". To reinforce the belt, I inserted a strip of poly that I canablized from garden edging. It was a perfect fit. Then using a thimble and black thread, I sewed the end back together and sewed the velcro back to where it came from. It looks great. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk Link to comment

Mbullen64
The next thing that needed to be done was repair the damage to the six pack and button cover when they were being torn down. To do this the areas, behind and immediately adjacent to the damaged areas, were masked off with painter's tape. A batch of abs paste was whipped up using acetone and finely chopped abs scraps. Mbullen64
Here are the after photos, yet to be sanded. I get moving and forget to take process photos. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk Link to comment
Mbullen64
I also had three holes to patch on the ab plate. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk Link to comment
Mbullen64
Ok, I have reassembled the Anovos Belt, V 2.0. I glued the Button Covers down yesterday. Today, I finished replacing a seam I missed on the belt the other day. Reattached the drop boxes. Had to remove one and reattach it a second time. I had a moment of USDS and put it on backward. Then I reattached the holster. And last but not least I touched up the button covers and the holster mounting screws with glossy black paint. Mbullen64
The belt is done. The tube stripes are done The shoulder straps have been reinforced. Next up tweaking the shape of the grieves for a better shape. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk Link to comment
Mbullen64
Ok, so the tube stripes were updated. 10 each side. The belt was opened and a poly reinforcement was added. I still need to touch up 3 rivets and one snap with Glossy Black paint. I played with the shape of the grieves around the right ankle to make it fit better. Have a look and let me know what you think. Unless there is something major I think the next step is to apply for approval. Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
You look really good and a very nice job on the build, too. This should be an easy approval. 👠1 Link to comment
