retrofire[501st]
That is a nice shot - I can see how it would be helpful. It's the scary Chef "looking for volunteers" shot . Â I just couldn't work out the slant to the visor in my mind until I saw this pic. Back on my head:) Link to comment
furiosa[TX]
Yeah the visor assmebly is a little bit tricky ...take care you won't get a roof looking visor, this happens kind of quick. Let the hot air blower become your best friend on the build that helped my bofriend a lot. Cut rather less and more often thant too fast too much. Link to comment
retrofire[501st]
I'm moving forward with my helmet build. I got the two halves together and I'm adding epoxy to strengthen the connections. It looks a little ugly now but that will all be cleaned up as I get further down the assembly path. I got the faceplate visor rough trimmed and I'll be making a few passes with a dremel to finish the trimming before breaking out the sandpaper. Then it's on to the bondo and more sanding until it's smooth as glass. I plan to request Specialist right after I get approved so I want to make sure everything is perfect. retrofire[501st]
Continuing to move forward with the lid. Tonight I worked on fitting the faceplate and visor. Lots of measuring, test fitting, trimming, and repeat. It's just about there and I hope to get the faceplate assembly epoxied together tomorrow. I just want to do justice to this beautiful lid. If I've learned anything it's to take your time especially when trimming. Link to comment

retrofire[501st]
Thanks Antje! Lucky enough I'm already an approved Biker Scout so I already have a vest, flight suit, and bund. This is actually Griffin-X armor that I'm modding with a new lid. So it's in great shape I just have to work it to fit my frame. Jim is Wookiee height and I'm more ewok height😃. I'm working on the visor and boots tonight so I'll post up some more progress.   Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1 Link to comment
