Spiritblade[TX]
I am in the process of building a second bucket and the kit has arrived with two sets of decals, grey and black. Just a pair of quick questions in regards to this: Can either be used or does it have to be black? I ask this as the background image to the forum has grey decals yet I have never really seen grey on a bucket before except on a white. Following from this does the snout have to be black or grey as the background image is grey with a black aerator? The reason for these questions is as my current bucket is all black. Link to comment
retrofire[501st]
1.) All black. The texture will set the decal off from the rest of the helmet. You're right about the grey. That's for the white armor version. 2.) The snout should also be black but a contrasting one to the helmet finish. With the helmet I am working on now the overall finish is going to be a satin and my snout will be a semigloss. This gives the armor some depth/layering of different finishes. Hope that helps and I hope your build is going great! If you have some time check out Antje's (Furiosa) build over in the Scout forum. Sall has a great one too. They're both Specialists and did amazing jobs on their builds. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 3 Link to comment

Hi, Black allll the way :-) my armour & helmet is Satin, i put a bit of gloss on my snout as Retrofire says 'depth/layering of different finishes' i paint as a hobby so i had some acrylic gloss varnish handy and used that. Hope that helps? looking forward to seeing your build thread. Sall 1 Link to comment
furiosa[TX]
As Sall and Reto said already said full black decals but dark grey is also acceptable due to CRL's. Armor and helmet can be either glossy or matte satin finished Helmet For 501st approval: Eye lens is black, dark green or a silver mirrored. Helmet may have scout detailing or left plain. If detailing is present it is black or dark gray. Licensed helmets are acceptable with modifications: Any deformation of helmet shape (helmet flare) is corrected. Eye lens opening is widened and lens is replaced with a darker transparent material. Remove the manufacturer logo. Remove "fish-hook" logo Replace stock bolts with flat-disc "elevator" bolts. Replace inaccurate aerator. Repaint to match the armor. For level two certification (if applicable): Film-accurate snout detail and aerator with accurate parts, mounted onto a plate and painted a contrasting Black to the Armour. Film-accurate squared emblem located on the left faceplate "blinder" Film-accurate helmet snout/aerator detail, mounted onto a plate and painted a contrasting black to the helmet Film-accurate rear helmet "bar code" striping pattern No mesh in ears. Black material to be added inside to create depth, or painted. Properly shaped ear holes are present. Decals or painted areas contrast the rest of the helmet. 1 Link to comment

Spiritblade[TX]
Thank you for the feedback so far. Please note that my current bucket is a resin all black which I do love it, this is for a possible replacement bucket which is plastic and a heck of alot lighter. Just to point back to my second question, as this appears not to have been answered. Does the snout have to be all black or can it also be grey with a black aerator? (Please refer to the backgorund image for these forums as an example of this.) Link to comment

Basicly it has been answered you find it mentioned and better defined in the level 2 section: For level two certification (if applicable): Film-accurate snout detail and aerator with accurate parts, mounted onto a plate and painted a contrasting Black to the Armour.
