Chapaaz[501st]
Hey all i thought it was about time i started a WIP for my upcoming Shadow Scout build. My soft parts started to come through the post today so far I have my vest, bund and pouches, the rest should be here in a couple of weeks then I think the only thing left soft parts wise is the gloves. So just waiting on my kit from chef and I don't know wether to order a DLT-19 or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment

Chapaaz[501st]
What paint is best to use for the lid? Is it better to go gloss or a Matt black? I was gonna pick up halfords Matt black spray paint but wasn't sure that was the right one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
Chapaaz[501st]
I managed to pick up one of chefs kits as the person that bought it didn't have time to start it so I made a start on it today. By starting the bucket first. Once I had the two halfs trimmed I cut and moulded the strips for inside. Whilst the glue was setting I started on the face plate and cut out the lense. Next onto the visor part which I think is going to be the biggest challenge does this look right as I've only clamped it and taped it. I added a mirrored tint to my lens as well. Link to comment
Chapaaz[501st]
I wasn't happy with the lid before. Does this look ok to trim and glue? Trim lines. Link to comment
retrofire[501st]
Do you have any overlap in the visor? I'm building a Chef lid as well and I had enough overlap to square off that angle on the front. Link to comment

Chapaaz[501st]
Trimmed and glued a piece of abs to join the visor together And trimmed the visor so it's 8mm around the edges. Once the visor sets I'm good to go to glue the faceplate in. Link to comment
Chapaaz[501st]
Boots and flight suit came today Done some sanding on the visor as well ready to glue the faceplate in now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment

Chapaaz[501st]
Filled the gap in the lid (I hate filler ha ha) Whilst that was drying I thought I'd start on the detonator, trimmed sanded and coat of primer. Didn't take long to dry as it's nice and sunny in Newcastle the day. First coat of satin black. Once I've done with the detonator I'll get the faceplate and lid cleaned and sanded a bit more ready for the primer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Link to comment
Chapaaz[501st]
Finally can post a bit of an update as the seam in the helmet has had my life. I finally got the seam blended in as every time I primed it you could see the join and filler. In the end it took 3 lots of filler and sanding then a primer with filler in it another sanding then another 2 coats of primer/filler then I wet & dry sanded this morning and put a coat of grey primer on and I'm happy with it now ha ha.
