Del Meeko CRL (Complete)

Recommended Posts

Wanted to start with the strapping of the belt and the armor vest.

Now I realized that all the strapping should be made with 1.5 in textile or leather straps.

When you look at the pics how the webbing is done, you see that the different straps are different in size. Because you have to translate game pics into real life it´s hard to say what size the different straps really are.

When to take a ruler and measure the straps in comparison to the officer belt and the size of the thermal detonator the bigger strap is around 1 1/2 in wide but the smaller one is just around 1 1/8 in - that´s just a rough estimation to show the difference. Sadly I cannot say something about the straps of the armor vest because I have no reference available.

Comparing the Del Meeko CRL to other CRL´s where similar parts are used (scout trooper, shadow scout and this modified Gideon Hask CRL of the JRS) for basic approval no size for the straps is given at all. Only the shadow scout CRL says 1.5 in wide straps for attaching the drop boxes to the scout belt when you want to go for level 2 approval.

In my opinion it would be very welcome - not only for me - to show more flexibility regarding the size of the straps for the webbing work.

For basic approval it would be cool to skip the numbers and if someone wants to go for level two please keep in mind that the different straps are not same in size - which size I cannot say because my references are very limited at the moment.

Thanks for your attention.

I don't think numbers are here to force anyone making it the exact dimensions, it's just a scaling info so no one will do crazy stuff. Also, not any staff member will do hard calculations on your approval pics to determine the exact dimension you used, so you can choose whatever dimension you like, if it's coherent and scaled as seen on reference pics we've got, I think it's good. Also, depending on your body weight, you can obviously choose to make vary straps size so it's "scaled" to yourself

Concerning the dimensions on your screen :

- Upper one (ammo vest) : 1"

- Middle one (officer belt) : 2"

- Thigh box strip : 1.5"

These are the most logical and "scaled" options for a majority of people

As you write: the upper strap and thigh box strap are not the same, but why they are the same in the CRL? When I can make "whatever dimension you like" and you don´t think "numbers are here to force anyone making it the exact dimensions" why are these numbers written in the CRL for basic approval?

I want to be sure, that I don´t buy stuff and somebody will tell me: Oh, the stuff you bought is not the stuff you should have bought.

One guy from my garrison told me about a similar problem, which reminds me of this here. It took him nearly 2 (!) months to get his costume approved because our Garrison didn´t want to approve it - in their eyes it didn´t meet the CRL - and the final decision was made in the US - lot´s of hussle and a big waste of time for him.

Please let the officials decide what to do and - most important for me - are dimensions which don´t meet the 1.5 in o.k. for approval or not.

A clear yes or no and we know what´s allowed and what not.

I think you got me wrong or mistaken my intentions that were a galaxy away from being cold, severe or whatever toxic behavior..

To be clear : As usual I'm only telling my opinion, I'm not deciding in place of any Spec Ops Staff.

I'm not imposing anything by informing what are the most logical dimensions of the straps. I've worked on it, measured 3d files, some others too, and the staff will most likely agree with what seems logical and coherent.

I obviously agree with you dimensions shouldn't be written in basic level 1 and agree that we will never have the final word on anything.

Numbers indicated on This topic are, IN my opinion only early indications to make it clear for everyone, it's basically what I've written word for word in the CRL discussion topic where I explained everything with screens etc.

Now, I don't really understand where you see the 1.5" for the Ammo Vest waist strap (upper leather strip on your screen).. No dimension are indicated nowhere concerning this, the only info written on the CRL are :

- one piece 5 boxes belt attached to 1.5" strip over officer belt

- 1.5" strip for thigh box strapping

So yea, same 1.5" dimension for thigh box leather strip AND one piece 5 boxes belt attachement (invisible on your screen as it's OVER the officer belt and Thermal Detonator held to it, is hiding it) but there is absolutely no mention of any dimension for the waist strip (upper strip on your screen and, again, concerning the Ammo Vest)

But well, anyway, I will indeed stay away from these discussions now.

This crl in the link says: "top of calf" boots, for me it sounds like inferno boots are mandatory. But there has already been a long and exhausting discussion about this already, regarding calfhigh or spesific inferno boots. For simplicity and practicallity it was decided that regular Jackboots/calfhigh boots would be approvable.

Why has someone suddently changed it again?

No sudden change, but you might be finding a disparity between what JRS has decided.

Note for anyone talking about dimensions - there is also the opposite problem if you don't give some even a general idea of size - a person will use a strap or belt that is way offside and then make a fuss if it's not approved. A gml reviewing the costume should always come back to what looks right. If the piece in question would look cool pletely wrong on someone, considerations can be made, but they won't be made just because someone doesn't want to obtain the right size item. If a trooper is 4'10'' and 95 pounds, the standard size pouches are going to look ridiculous, for example.

Hello everyone I'm looking at doing del Meeko for 501st approval. I sent Jim tripon my $280 for him to start my costume. Where can I find the crl for Meeko any help would be appreciated

The WIP CRL can be found here:

-----SNIP-----

EDIT: Removed the WIP CRL as it shouldn't be exposed.

It isn't yet deemed a final CRL as it is still under review by the LMO team but it's about as close as your going to get.

While on the subject of the CRL, any idea how that approval is progressing? I know it was submitted on 11/25 to the LMO team, not sure how long it is expected to turn that around. My wife and I have completed sets (Iden & Del) and were really hoping to troop some of TLJ premiere events with them, though without a final CRL I'm not sure what the policy towards that would be.

Like the DL said patience would be appreciated as it has been around the holidays since this has been completed so people do have other priorities. once things are solidified everyone will be notified. The CRL has already been handed off and will be complete when the LMO team has time to complete it. This isn't a job but a volunteer organization so it would be appreciated if people would be a bit more understanding, respectful and patient. Thanks

Wow it's been a month since the game came out and no CRL still. Anyone know what is left and if this CRL is pretty much set?

  • 3 months later...

Thanks for all the work gone into this CRL.

Coming from a background in sport-rules development/application, I can vouch for this being no easy feat.

I do have a question. When I downloaded a copy of Del Meeko CRL from the legion d/b, the flightsuit section had two points outlining the black stripes on the left hand side.

One point indicates the black strip ends at the shoulder seam while the following point details the strip ends at the bottom of the collar.

I noticed that under the belt section a imperial officer belt is required but was wondering why this wouldn't be optional if the scout trooper belt is technically being worn and none of the game footage shows Del wearing a officer belt. I am a recruit of the Connecticut garrison and was told that someone could provide with me with better info on what is necessary for my legion.

Hey there Quentin. Yes the belt was pulled from reference images. This is an in-game shot where you can see the officer belt underneath the scout belt.

There are a few others but this is the best shot. I pulled this link from the CRL discussion thread here:

Good question man. If you have any more please don't hesitate to ask. Several troopers here that can hook you up with the info you need. Good luck on your build!

PS Connecticut!!! My birth state! Good to see you getting involved there!

Are you set on Del Meeko? Go to the Inferno section and start a build thread. Drop all of your questions over there and you'll get all the feedback you need. Hit up FirstOrder (Andy) here on our forums as well. He's currently your CTG GML (does approvals) and one of our Shadow Trooper Specialists...great Spec Ops rep up there.
