Hi Guys! I have been in contact with DeathMOS30 and Darth Emphatic for a couple of weeks now discussing to revive and push to get another CRL for Spec Ops. The Sullust Magma Trooper and the Shock Trooper crls are up already. So I think its also proper to have one for the Battlefront Shadow Trooper. There are some differences for both the Battlefront Shadowtrooper and the Comics Shadowtrooper. So hopefully you can help me complete and submit my build for this! I would love to hear your comments in my progress. Thank you so much!

Ok guys. As the helmet for the Battlefront Shadowtrooper looks more of an ANH style, I have decided to use my previously approved shadowtrooper armor to convert and modify it in terms of what this TX looks like in game. So we start with the bucket. I used an ATA helmet kit.

I replaced the flat lens with a bubble lens.

There are no mirror, silver or black lens available so i made one by spraying the green lens with black tint spray paint and a touch of metallic silver.

In terms of visibility, I can still see like with a green lens with silver tinting.

Ok lets proceed with the armor kit. I got my armor kit from WTF.

I then converted the parts so it can accommodate the black U-trim.

Hey bro, i sourced my edge trim online. Its abit hard to find these. Where do you plan to use it? Walt supplied me with the default set of parts. So for the other stuff, I did some research on where to get them. Cheers.

I've looked around online and wasn't sure what size stuff would be right for armor. I plan to do the same thing you're doing, but with a Force Unleashed trooper. Do you have a link, or the name of the site you found your edge trim?

Look for 10mm or 8mm Rubber U-trim. It should not be more than the thickness of the brow trim of your stormtrooper

Another update. I have spoken with Dorothy and we agreed that there is a need to redo or make a longer drop box seen in reference photos. I have some spare abs sheet and before I start to pull a longer drop box, I managed to measure WTF's default drop box dimensions which is:

 

I also measured my AP drop Box and the dimensions are the same as my MTK armor.

 

 

So comparing both, the AP drop boxes are bigger and more proportion in terms of the plastic belt (Both WTF and AP plastic belts are more or less same in dimensions). I'm using the AP drop box as my reference in creating a longer one.

So before I proceed to pull a new pair of drop boxes for my Battlefront Shadowtrooper build, I would like to seek your help and I may need your vote on what dimensions should I go with in terms of proportion.

 

(from left to right) WTF drop box is 2 inches X 4 inches, AP drop box is 2.5 inches X 4.5 inches, Option 1 is 2.5 inches X 5.5 inches (more or less size of an Iphone 6s) , Option 2 is 2.5 inches X 6 inches

Please note that I am only using the AP drop box and plastic belt as my reference in measurements.

I'd say option 1. You can take the box in the reference pic on the first thread and compare that size to one of the actual ammo boxes on the belt itself and make proportion from that.

Ive decided the 5.5" long and 2.5" wide will be the standard for the CRL and for the battlefront stormiei feel it is the most accurate depiction.

Icytrooper has the right way to get the size. Paste the photo into PowerPoint. Draw a vertical and horizontal line on the ammo belt boxes and get the ratio of the known height and width of the ammo belt. Then draw a horizontal and vertical line across the photo drop boxes and apply your known ratio. That will give you the drop boxes size. We used this when determining the E-11D components proportions based upon the known size of the hengslter counter dimensions. Sounds like Dorothy may have already done that. I can double check on Monday when I at work doing nothing. LOL

Hi Dorothy, I managed to pull a pair of drop boxes with a length of 5.5 inches.

 

 

Just need to paint the rivets black and buff my plastic belt to make it look shiny like the drop boxes.
