Well......I started a thing and I am far closer than I ever thought I would get to this. Also mind you, the helmet is not mine.

Yeah I have a long way to go but I am closer now to a lot of things. This was just trying on the armor to see where I sit with mods and such. There was one previous wearer and he only wore it 3 times. Armor is 850 and helmet of mine is skygunbros, but not the helmet pictured.

Have you gotten tanks yet? I just ordered a flametrooper helmet kit from 850 and am saving up for the armor kit.... how tall are you?

 

I don't have the tanks yet, but even though I really wanted to fully 3D print them, I think the way to go will be to build them from scratch. That way I can size the tanks to my body size. I am 5'8” by the way and skinny as a rail. I weigh about 127 lbs.

By the time I was done building my pack, it cost more than it would have to have bought a pack from MLC or 850, and it's super heavy. Plus the tubes I used for the tanks are HDPE plastic, which does not like to be painted. Everything else was abs and pvc. If you use something other than the bollard covers that I used for the tanks, it will probably be less expensive. I also suck at painting, so I spent way too much money on paint.

 

All that said, it was a real fun adventure, and I certainly am proud of my accomplishment. Just be prepared for the amount of time it will take.

Yeah I know what you mean. I am planning on using ABS tubes. Luckily, I work at a plumbing supply warehouse and we get tons that gets broken and such. I just need to figure out what the outside diameter of the three tubes.

Test fit went well! This was for the local St. Patrick’s day parade here in Denver. I am the taller one and there are a lot of things that need fixing but most of the kit fits ok. We have different makers for the kits but things may change in the future as well on that.

Looks great! Can definitely tell the difference in the armor but that's no biggie! I think the last time I saw any build on this was like 2-3 years ago! Glad you persisted and got it done!

Thanks! Yeah the one thing that I have been looking hard at it that there may be a part or two that may need to be swapped out for a whole new piece. That shouldn’t be too hard though. The other thing that I have noticed that I have brought up before is that there may need to be just a few changes to the CRL and a possibility to make different levels added as well. For instance, the black recess on the back of the helmet does exist in the movies and screen used pieces. Rubber gaskets could be a level two or three add on. The tanks and blaster are in the final phases.

Here is where I had painted the back of the helmet to match the screen used ones. At celebration, I was able to pick up and hardcore look after the Anovos (or whatever they are calling themselves these days) one and I hated it, but even they had the black stripe added to the bottom of the indent. The thing was waaaay heavy too and the cost was stupid insane. My helmet is SGB and IN MY OPINION and only my opinion (no one has to agree with me on this) is the closest I have seen with handmade being most accurate so far. I know others are out there that are right there as well, but I don’t know the makers or they were 3D printed or something.

I found the full size pic one of my friends took when we did our test fit finally! I am the one on the right and @ForTheOrder18 is on the left! I think that we are so far the only garrison that will have two flames and I can’t wait to be the first woman in this armor!

Correct it is not on the CRL as of right now.

Agreed, CRL's are definitely "living and breathing" documents so as long as we have the references we'll always push those!

Just minor tweaks like having actual lights in the pack as a level two and so fourth. There are almost no secondary level requirements for this kit and I was going to see if Calvin and I can get them both to specialists standards. Rubber gaskets would be another level 2. Holes cut in certain areas. Things like that.
