Paint question

Hey Everybody, 

I am new here so forgive me if this question had been asked a million times before. 

I am about ready to paint my helmet. I was going to go black vocoder, stripes and traps, Is there a preference to either gloss, semi-gloss or flat paint?

I have a silver lenses, so I was thinking silver frown as well. 

Any help would be appreciated

My vocoder, traps, and stripes on mine are flat black. My frown is silver with my silver lenses and it looks great!
