Dropkick[CMD-XO]
Hi all, I'm working through a shadow stormtrooper build at the moment & I've a question on the shims needed to keep the gap between the back kidney & front ab pieces. For specialist, the left side of these two parts have 3 split rivets that are used to join & hold the two parts together. Does this mean if I need to add a shim to help my larger frame fit the armour, that I can only add a shim on the right side? Any help is appreciated. 1 Link to comment
Dropkick[CMD-XO]
Is it OK to have a smaller shim on both sides of the kidney & then add the split rivets to the ab plate & the shim that attaches to the left side of the kidney? Will this work for a specialist approval? Link to comment
IcyTrooper[CMD-DL]
I'd say you'd have a shim that comes from the kidney armor side to meet at the ab plate sides. Let me take a look at how others have done with shims on the side and give you a definitive answer on that and with rivet location. 1 Link to comment
IcyTrooper[CMD-DL]
@Dropkick so I know this is for a TK but it is the same concept for the TX: Essentially you add the shim from the kidney plate to be the part that goes to the ab plate (no shim on the ab plate) and then use ABS paste to create a seamless edge. From there you can place the rivets in the locations they are supposed to be on the kidney shim and have them in the standard location on the ab plate. Does that make sense? 1 1 Link to comment
