creokc
Hi all! Embarking on my first build and decided to go with the Death Trooper (non-specialist version). Decided to create a thread to update on my progress (and to keep me focused) and staying open to any comments/suggestions that you guys might have! I don't have access to 3D printers, workshops and tools (sanding/drilling/painting/trimming etc) so my build will focus on parts that require minimal modifications, while keeping cost into consideration. Been looking around and this is the current build I have so far: My Build: Helmet (ordered) - From ArmoryShop - Ordered on 31/7/21 Armor (ordered) - From ArmoryShop - Ordered on 31/7/21 Undersuit/necksuit/apron/gaskets/corset (ordered) - From The DarkSide Closet - Ordered on 4/8/21 Balaclava (researching) - Most likely from any local shop Forearm Missiles (researching) - Most likely from Phoenix Props - Might come with the Armor set from ArmoryShop Wrist Bands (researching) - Most likely from Plastic Arms Dealer - Might come with the Armor set from ArmoryShop Gloves (researching) - Most likely from Endor Finders Belt with buckle, three black canvas pouches, two square boxes (researching) - Most likely from ArmoryShop Belt leather pouch, holster (researching) Boots (researching) - Most likely from Imperial Boots - Looking out for Dr Martens boots Boots Cover (ordered) - From The DarkSide Closet - Ordered on 4/8/21 - Comes with the Armor set from ArmoryShop SE-14r Blaster (received) - From The Imperial Factory - Ordered on 4/9/21 - Received on 12/10/21 E-11D Blaster (researching) Helmet Audio System (researching) - Most likely from Ukswrath's Speciality Helmet Cooling System (researching) - Most likely from Ukswrath's Speciality Considerations: NSM Monitor on helmet doesn't have LED installed, might need to get the lighting from here and install it myself Armor doesn't include strapping, need to find a way for this 3 Link to comment

Lt. Dan[501st]
Hello KC! Great list so far. If you purchased the painted kit from Armory Shop then the forearm rockets, square boxes, belt buckle and wrist bands are included. You don't have to buy this stuff double as mentioned in your list. But I must say that the belt buckle and rockets in my kit were from poor quality. Thats why I updated mine to aluminum ones. Looking forward to your build! 1 Link to comment

Dan Thanks for pointing that out!! Totally missed that I noticed the belt buckle listing from ArmoryShop isn't aluminium/silver as per the CRL. I actually contacted Phoenix Props (but yet to order) for that forearm rockets and belt buckle because I was referencing your build (nice build by the way!) Thank you, I am really excited for my build! 1 Link to comment

A lot of work done and still a lot of work ahead! Honestly I was a bit naive when ordering the Armory Shop kit, as I thought: "Mhm, a bit of strapping and thats it!" Forget that! I had to rework nearly every part and especially the little accessory parts were all wrong painted. I don't want to scare you, but although its a "finished" kit you'll have to do a lot of adjustments and prepping. What I still forgot: the boot covers are also included in the Armory Shop kit, but won't fit the IB boots. They are too small to fit the IB's velcro attachments! 1 Link to comment

Haha I guess I will find out when I receive it. But I *hope* I don't have to do much ? For the painted armor set from Armory Shop, I checked recently and they mentioned it doesn't include the belt kit or any of the pouches. Maybe they have changed it For the boots, I am still looking out for Dr Martens boots as I will have the boot covers, so if possible I don't need to get another boots cover with boots from IB 1 Link to comment

creokc
Sorry for bumping this thread, just have a concern regarding the delivery time from ArmoryShop I ordered the helmet and the armor kit late July last year and till today, it has been almost a full year and I have yet to receive the kit that I ordered. This is kind of worrying for me because I think I am way past the PayPal refund date. Understand that there are unforeseen events that affected the operation of the shop. Have seen some other posts saying that ArmoryShop has offered refunds for orders. I have actually reached out to them via Instagram a few times to check on my order status and they have not replied to me a single time. I wouldn't mind waiting for them to fulfil the order (am in no rush but still want to get my hands on it asap) but its the lack of updates that is worrying Just want to know if anyone else is experiencing the same thing and/or is there anything I can do regarding this? Thank you Link to comment
HRivera7322
ASP is still having issues with shipping as DHL only allows them 10 or so boxes a week, I think? They're also small boxes only, so no armor kits/undersuits are being transported at this time. It's very possible that your order is finished, but they just can't ship it. You can reach out to them via Telegram or email, they'll be more responsive than on social media, but I'm not sure how long it'll take them to respond. Paypal will probably honor the refund given the situation. So really it's up to you if you want to wait it out. Link to comment

Thank you I am very surprised that they have not gotten back with you on Instagram or email. I know for a month or so, they didn't have access to outside comms, but I believe they are back. As Hector said, they have had major issues shipping with DHL because of the 'situation' I hope that they are able to ship to you. I love their armor and the helmet is pretty good, so I am rooting for you! -Michael Link to comment

Thank you I am in the same boat. I ordered a finished Helmet and Armor kit from ArmoryShop in December. I am not upset in any way and completely understand the situation. Just wish I knew if I should try and get a refund from PayPal or just wait and hope ArmoryShop can get back up and running. Link to comment

I tried emailing them but no response as well, on social media, I see that they are quite active but still no response as well. I tried raising a refund request but PayPal rejected it as it is past 180 days since the payment date. Thank you Link to comment

If you plan to get a refund, I suggest you do it within 180 days from your payment date Hey @creokc I did try reaching out to ArmoryShop via Instagram but never heard back. (I have had success via Instagram in the past). On 5/7 I ended up opening a case with PayPal due to the post ArmoryShop made on May 4th. I put a screen capture of the post and link in the PayPal case notes and on 5/17 received an email from PayPal that my case was decided in my favor and that I would be getting a refund from PayPal. While I am very happy to be getting my money back, I also feel really sad for everything ArmoryShop is going through. I don't know what this means for my build as I now have everything but the actual armor. Link to comment

For me... not sure if my money is as good as gone (can anyone chime in on this?) I am past the PayPal 180 days policy for refund, and with no replies from ArmoryShop... all I can do is hope for the best ? Link to comment

Dennis has always been very reliable I know from experience he gives 110% to his customers, unfortunately he has been thrown into a situation that is largely out of his control. If you paid for the kit via a linked credit card on your PayPal, you may be able to force it back through the credit card provider. I know a couple of people who managed to do it this way, but it's not always 100% successful and will depend on your bank. 1 Link to comment

I know a couple of people who managed to do it this way, but it's not always 100% successful and will depend on your bank. With all due respect, I don't think his actions reflect his reliability. About an hour ago on Instagram, he posted a post saying that they are still packing and shipping from home, stay tuned for deliveries, he's selling out his remaining equipment etc, and he is asking people who are interested to DM him. So what I don't get is, how is he not replying his DMs from people who has already placed an order and asking for a status update? As simple as a "don't worry, your order is not being forgotten, we are preparing/packing it" would suffice. I honestly do not think he is that busy to the point where he cannot reply DMs? And I sent like three or more over the past few months Unfortunately as well, it has been around 10 months since I paid (yes, I waited this long before I lost my trust) and my bank/credit card provider doesn't entertain chargeback requests that date so far back. The amount paid for the armor is not a small amount (to me) that I can just easily forget about, so I will try to find ways. At the same time, just hoping that a big box appears at my doorstep Link to comment
