TooTall’s DeathTrooper WIP

Recommended Posts

Hello all! I’ve been doing my research on soft parts and armor and so far I’ve made a list of everything I need

starting off with armor we’re going with 850 Armor Works for the armor

i have a galactic armory death trooper helmet with me but i don’t know if it’ll be approvable. If not I can use it for practice and go with the 850 helmet

The undersuit I’m going with Jim tripons I have to ask him if he does knee gaskets and a neck seal

i have a pair of KeepTroopings boots with the leather covers and I’m very impressed with the quality of them

as for gloves I’m going with Endor finders

for helmet gonna try my best to rig up the voice box chatter and the LED lights along with helmet fans.

I think I covered most of it. Let me know if I’m missing anything.

Hi Matt.

I ordered a Jim Tripon undersuit as a two piece set and all the gaskets are included: elbows, knees, shoulders, neck...everything. From what I remember, his suits should be approvable to Level 2.

Hey thanks! That’s perfectly good to know and it’s one thing to stress less about lol

posting pics of my Galactic Armory DeathTrooper helmet to see if it can be approved with overall shape of it and following CRL guidelines. i dont have a pic of me wearing it but since its at 100 percent scaling it fits fine for a 22 in circ head but a little tight his the nose ridge sits up against mine with no padding.

To me, it looks pretty good for basic approval.  For higher levels, it also has the correct numbers of nose bridge vents / ribs

Hey thanks! Now I can finish post processing it.

I was reading the crl on it being a dark green tinted visor. What would be acceptable for that? Hobart face shield? Or anything I can get online?

The dark green welding shields would be the correct colour. If you are looking for level 2 approval, you need to have a bubble lens. Not a lot of options for it except OPLEprops I think.

This is the shield I used for my stormtrooper green lens.

@TooTall Nice.  If you use the direct link option on imgur, it will put the photo into the post instead of just the link.

That was my bad on my end. I tried doing it from my phone and it said no lol

I’ve been reading through the crls and I’ve mapped out everything for the belt. I was plastic arms dealer in on the list but crossed out. Is that still an approvable vendor? I have the holster, and the 3 small pouch set (6.75” x 2.75” x 1.25”), and the one leather pouch. I have not mapped out the 2 small square boxes. What exactly are those?

Plastic Arms Dealer sells the belt material and metal buckle. He no longer produces any of the armor portions. https://plasticarmsdealer.com/shop/24450541/death-trooper-parts

The two small square boxes are the boxes that are attached to the belt and located at the wearer's hips. Gerald @DoggyDoc may have made his own 3D file, check with him.

Hey Matthew @TooTall  You can see the 2 small boxes in the photo below.  If you need the files, I do have STL files for them, just let me know.

One thing I would have done differently with my belt is the buckle location, instead of hiding it under the back right soft pouch, I would likely have hid it under one of the front ones.  Where it is currently (back pouch), I can not do it up myself and need a handler to assist me.  If it were in the front, I would be able to do it without help.

Hey thanks! I would greatly appreciate having the stl’s for them and that would finish mapping out the belt!! I’m writing your tip on the belt into my notes so I can try to put it in myself

Gonna talk to Jim sometime next week after paying bills about an undersuit and then after I come back from wondercon end of March I will place the order from 850 about the abs armor. Will be ordering new gloves soon from Endor finders and slowly order my belt parts!!
