Sinnergy - Imperial Death Trooper [Work In Progress]

Recommended Posts

Good morning/afternoon/evening. I am currently in the process of working on my first ever costume, I have been wanting to be a part of the 501st and now only recently have been old enough and have the money and time to invest in a costume and work on it. I originally lurked on the sith lord detachment forums for quite some time, wanting to eventually build an ANH or R1 Vader, I eventually changed my mind and wanted to build a Boba Fett ESB costume, even reaching out to some members, I finally decided on Death Troopers. Being in the military, I just loved the idea of Imperial Special Forces and the Death Troopers to me instill the most realistic feeling of that.

As of today, I went through with a purchase of completed armor from a member in a Death Trooper building group on Facebook, I was fully aware that I would need to work on stuff and fix it up, but it was a good price and a good starting point for myself.

I don't currently have any of the goods in hand as they need to ship first, but I would appreciate any feedback on the armor I bought and any tips. Currently this is all I know about the armor:

Armor - 850 Armor Works

Helmet - Armoryshop

Undersuit - Jim Tripon

Gloves - Unknown

Boots - I will have to order a larger size since I wear 13s and the seller wore 12s

Currently no weapons, but I plan I purchasing the SE-14 and E-11D blasters respectively. The helmet has lights in the tusks already and he provided the stormtrooper doll, canvas ammo pouches, chest rig harness, and the pauldron. As far as I know right now, I will have to probably sand and re-paint the armor since it has some scratches from being worn, specifically the leg portion, the shoulder pads straps just need to be re-glued, and one of the tusks fell off and needs to be re-glued as well. I also currently own a MICOM 2.0 so I will be using the Death Trooper template I bought with it.

I look forward to getting my costume set, approved, and out trooping with all of you.

Hello Cedric.  Welcome to spec ops - great choice of costume.  I look forward to seeing you in it.  Looking forward to BBB (Big Brown Box) day.  For boots, I would recommend crow props - I also wear a size 13 and he will make them that large, whereas other manufacturers only go to size 12.

Box day came and went, "I" have the armor, and by that I mean my family does. I'm currently overseas so I had the seller ship his armor from Florida to my hometown in Minnesota. From the photos my family have sent, the armor will need some love, a lot of scratches and dings.

From what I've seen from various other threads, usually using some sort of primer and filler, sanding, and then painting over should be good. It's a shame I can't have the scratches to keep a battle-worn look, haha.\
