Detaleader[501st]
He folks! With the recent conclusion of Andor S2, I figure we could have a look at upgrades specifically from Season 2? We previously had a thread with update requests and additions from Season 1, but since @Tal Skirata confirmed the same costumes used on S2, I figured it may be worth setting up a spare thread to look into things specific to Season 2. I haven't really had a chance to hunt for screenshots yet, but for those interested, here's a good source for 4k Screenshots: https://www.cap-that.com/starwars/andor/?seasontwo Helps with avoiding photos taken off a TV screen too 1 1 Link to comment
Detaleader[501st]
I think this should be the main changes: - Prominent use of boots with no adjustment straps, so that should probably be moved into an optional thing - Right handed holsters for Power 5 Blasters - Power 5 with coil wire (unlike the straight wire in Season 1) - The new smaller Mudtrooper looking goggles - Variant with unpainted Flat black Armor (Ferrix/Ghorman style) - Based on items previously auctioned, it solidifies that the green shade currently in the CRL is totally off. The Mina Rau troopers seem to be color graded much closer to the physical costumes, with some leaning to brown and some leaning to greener Season 2 retains the mismatched nature of color shades, with some troopers having different color pants or hats - Riot Baton as previously seen on Ferrix. The same trooper also uses belt boxes in a brighter shade. The belt boxes for Andor have been made with different degrees of shine. Link to comment
pyro[TX]
To be honest this might be a separate CRL cause to my eyes the Alhdani troopers are a shade of green and these are shades of brownish tan Link to comment

Here's a fabric swatch from Season 1: Link to comment
Detaleader[501st]
Well that's just kind of it: The uniforms for both seasons are the same, but there's color differences within dye batches. The trooper on the left is browner, the trooper on the right leans greener. Or a green hat on a brown jacket? The uniforms don't match, but that's exactly how Season 1 was too. 1 Link to comment
Detaleader[501st]
Just to provide reference, here's Season 1 behind the scenes pics with less/no color grading on there: Taramyn's Uniform leaning closer to brown, Skeen closer to green Link to comment
TreeHuggerMatt
As I understood it from what will said the aldhani ones were the field grey/olive green as we have now and as they used the same costumes then they would also have been field grey/olive green on mina-rau had they not colour graded the film to show the brown. its gonna be a seperate one then from that.? Astara
First time poster (oof) any I agree with the thought that the uniform should be more brown leaning with green undertones. Mina Rau has been confirmed to be the same uniform and with that we see the majority of the troopers wearing brown. From people on set saying the color of the uniform and the bts shots we know the actual color. The issue is of course the color grading, which we’ve seen two shades. I suggest we go with the closer shade of the uniform (mina-rau brown). Green would of course still be acceptable seeing how many troopers have noticeably greener hats, but the goal should be a more feldgrau brown. 1 Link to comment
Detaleader[501st]
Feldgrau is actually a really good call. Since we know the color on the officers, we can also compare against that! The Army Trooper is visibly browner than the officer uniform. Link to comment
Astara
Also with the army troopers actually being more brown but being made to be green, the armor on Aldhani was also made more green than the matte or flat black it was! Link to comment
Tal Skirata[TX]
I’ll step in and debunk that actually, the armour on both seasons has always been matte black, not green in any way, to the point that on set we were issued cans of matte black for touch ups and scuffs, hycote matte black if I remember correctly 2 Link to comment

Tal Skirata[TX]
Oh yeah that would make sense I just read it wrong 1 Link to comment
Astara
I definitely think the army (and security if we are being honest) costumes should be made as customizable as the officer uniforms from the ioc, because of how many variants we see on screen coexisting. Link to comment

Was wondering what style of black the armor was. Off to home depot! Link to comment
