boil some water dip them in for 3-5 mins use some heat resistant gloves and then carefully bend the ears to better shape them to the helmet a better method than using a heat gun just a suggestion you can use this as a tutorial if you want

unfortunately still not done have just a little bit of strapping and helmet to finish i'm sooooo close

just my 2 points 1 the snaps should be marine snaps stainless steel preferably so they don't rust away from sweat and 2 a leather punch works great for holes in the webbing and elastic then use a lighter or hand torch on the hole to keep from fraying
