  1. And I'm not dead yet guys, I just started 3D printing the helmet, this is it so far I'll post more progress as soon as there's some
  2. New pictures!!!! https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/battlefront/battlefront-2/campaign?utm_campaign=swbf2_hd_ww_ic_soco_fb_swbf2-071317-fb&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&cid=33563&ts=1499974664907&sf59069734=1
  3. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u117/mrshadow900/5ea57894-74e0-4fbc-a317-86481b0aee21_zpspnabhv09.jpg That's the best shoot I could get from the back. It seems he has a belt in the front and another one in the back. And it looks like a standard tk backplate
  4. I don't know if this one is a ground variant or just a mistake in the final rendering of the trailer
  5. Don't get me wrong, I also want Inferno to be Spec Ops, but with these guys in mind, which are called Special Commando Advanced Recon troopers (SCAR), I wouldn't be so sad if the Jolly's manage to get Inferno. But, enough of that, I've collected every bit of references I could get, since I have all the comics. I'll link my photobucket album, since I got like 35 pictures. http://s166.photobucket.com/user/mrshadow900/library/SCAR%20References Enjoy!
  6. They are awesome. And now that I think of it, this ones are way cooler than Inferno Squad, though I guess they are also going to be a lot harder to build
  7. Pretty much everything is... just some changes in the color scheme
  8. I also have the same question, is it a new variant, or just a mistake on the trailer rendering? I'm not quite sure myself. On other news... I was just scrolling through the JRS forum, and I found that someone posted this link to the official page, which confirms that Inferno Squad are both Spec Ops and Pilots! https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/starwars/battlefront/battlefront-2/news/believe-in-the-empire It literally says: "Inferno Squad is an Imperial special-ops team, trained as both deadly starfighter pilots and elite commandos"
  9. I understad, I mean it makes sense that they are able to pilot, given that it's going to be a Single Player campaign, and that they need to be proficient at space and ground, but everywhere they're described as: "Elite commandos of the Imperial war machine" "The Galactic Empire's elite special forces unit" "Imperial special forces unit" What do you think?
  10. Thanks! Also I think the variant with Scout belt doesn't actually have the TIE Pilot chest and box, but a standard TK chest. And, maybe I found another variant, or it's just a mistake they did when they made the trailer. But this guy with the TK belt crossed doesn't have the TIE pilot box.
  11. Thanks for the video, I know we have to be patient, but here's a quote quite interesting from the panel: "This right group of people that had the skillsets that would make sense for a game that we wanted there to be aerial combat, ground combat. We wanted this character to be able to be proficient at both. From a story perspective we were thinking: Who were the most devout, to what they're following when it comes to leadership, who's somebody who can be fully invested in the Empire, who can sit there and watch something like the Death Star explode and go: 'I'm going to double down on my commitment to this Empire. This strenghtens my belief in what the Empire stands for'. So all of that combined led to this idea of Special Operatives. People who have that type of training and also have that type of belief in what they're doing and those skills to be able to pull that off. And that narrowage of those two is where Inferno Squad came from." Any thoughts on this?
  12. I'm just curious as to which is actually the official procedure to decide in which detachment a new suit will be. I know some people are almost done building it, so what happens after? They have to wait until it is decided in which detachment i'll be? Or can it be approved before that decision is made? I don't even have a full year as a member so... many gaps in my knowledge of how it all works in the Legion
  13. It would be great if you could post your work here as well, so we can help each other out I agree that worbla may be easier to sculpt, however for the chest armor I think I'm going to sculpt in MDF or clay, since my goal is to make a mold out of it, but I'd really like to see how your's is turning. Btw, I finally finished the 3D sculpt of the helmet!!! Now we're just making some minor tweeks and adjusting the scale. We'll be making ribs using the 3D model, and laser cutting them with MDF. Afterwards we'll be filling everything with polyurethane foam and detailing with Bondo... There's a long road ahead, but really worth it. I'll be posting my progress as soon as there's some
  14. Hi guys Finally some progress!!! A teacher at school is helping me model the helmet, so we can later on get a really precise mold. This is how it looks so far
  15. Thanks!!! In a few days I'll start the process of sculpting the armor and will post my progress to get some feedback from you guys In the mean time, I've already gone through all of the CRL, and so far what I found is that the only parts that sort of resemble what we see in the Imperial Supercommando are: - Deathwatch: Belt, Codpiece and Thigh armor (only the basic shape) - Stormptrooper concept: Chest (again just the basic shape) - Commander Cody Phase II (ROTS): Jetpack (and again basic shape) And that's all I found that resembles the armor of the Supercommandos, everything else has no previous reference
  16. Yes... it's sort of a cross between a concept Boba and a concept Stormtrooper, however the only piece that is more or less the same is the belt and the holster like plates of the CW mandalorians And the helmet looks more or less like a Mandalorian Executioner So, I think I'll have to sculpt everything myself. Which is actually what I want
  17. I'd really appreciate the help I'm still new to all about armor making, but as soon as school's over (in two weeks), I'll have plenty of time to work on it and post my progress. For now I'm just investigating materials and gathering all the references I can.
  18. Hey guys! So I was watching the last episode of Rebels, and it immediately came to my mind the idea of building an Imperial Supercommando, and since they work for the Empire surely they could be in the 501st. However, I wasn't quite sure in which detatchment they would fit, since they are neither BH nor TKs, so I asked on the general 501st forums, and someone suggested that they could very well be part of the Spec Ops, since they are sort of a Special Force. What do you think? With the material availabe could we make a CRL for them? This is their official description by the way: "Mandalorian warriors loyal to the Empire, Imperial Super Commandos were deadly and efficient enforcers. Led by Gar Saxon, the Imperial Super Commandos' armor was a distinctive and streamlined white, and their masterful combat abilities were eclipsed only by their ruthlessness. Under orders of the Empire, they destroyed the Protectors of Concord Dawn with no mercy, and sought to do the same to their missing leader Fenn Rau and any rebel opposition." And finally I found out the shape of the cod piece, which was something that was bothering me
  19. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=21388&costumeID=141 Aaaaaand TX 56948 reporting for active duty!
  20. Thanks for all your feedback guys!!! I'll be sending my pics today!!! Wish me luck Btw I know I'm missing my hand plates, it's because I forgot one of them and went to meet the kids anyways
  21. I know there are some stuff I still need to work on, like the gold diamond on the back of the helmet , and the helmet stripes. But aside from that, how do you guys see on my armor? Any suggestions on what to improve so I can be accepted as a 501st Spec. Ops member? Also I know that the holster doesn't have to have the imperial logo but I just found it and wore it.
  22. Yes! I meant brow trim. But, what you mean by pull? (I'm not from the US, and new to this stuff of the 501st so...)
  23. I mentioned this post is Pic Heavy? XD Finally the helmet. I know that the lenses are too transparent, and the tube stripes are not black, and that I'm missing the Brown trim. I have already ordered those from Trooperbay.com
  24. Hello guys, as you may have noticed I'm not an official 501st member (I want to get my ID with this armor ). But I do know that the quality of the armor must be excellent in order to become an official member. So, I bought this set about four months ago and was told that it is a replica of an ANH Stunt. Since I knew almost nothing about types of armor and all that stuff, I didn't pay much attention to it and bought it right away. But now that I finally got the time to trim, paint again, and put all the pieces together it came to my mind that maybe the ANH Stunt armor isn't accepted for the Novatrooper. That's why I took photos of all the pieces in detail, to ask here if they are OK, and begin trimming and painting.
