  1. Perhaps a width could be stipulated? anything over something like 3/4 of an inch or 1 inch and we would swap around biceps, try to find them a bigger set, tape them shut or anything along those lines as any gaps bigger than that we actively didnt want on set, any gap at all we didnt want to see so anything too egregious was a no go, so perhaps the crl could specify they may appear open but no more than "X " amount?
  2. The cord actually isn’t present on any suits made for either season of andor that I can remember, it’s still the split design but it’s purely relying on the rigidity of the biceps themselves to keep closed at the back, sometimes we had guys with larger biceps where they had gaps at the back but we actively tried to keep those guys away from camera especially in any shots that were behind, this goes for tac team, security troopers, army troopers etc
  3. They’re definitely smaller, I don’t know exactly what size they ended up going with but the initial discussions were about 10% smaller.
  4. Not so much a build at this point in time, I’ve cleared V1, will be going on to do V2 here soon as well as working on my goggles for the mina rau variant. Strange to be joining the ranks I helped create.
  5. Sorry I’ve not been keeping up with the crl development recently, been very busy on another production, if there’s any specific outstanding questions I’m happy to answer them while I get up to speed on the thread so far
  6. I’ll be honest the material of the jacket looks quite different, the final on screen jackets weren’t modified from any existing world jacket to my knowledge, we had a jacket that I believe was taken as a pattern, modified and produced in the final fabrics, but those jackets weren’t the brand you have here. while what you have does look close as I said the fabrics look different as well as I know there were no buttons or button holes present to suggest the jackets were modified from these. not necessarily saying you’re outright wrong just pointing out what I see given my experience with the costumes.
  7. I mentioned it’s a thin rubber with vertical ribs and I was involved in some of the development and filming on these costumes. I try to avoid posting behind the scenes pics to avoid getting myself into any trouble but I’ll put the discussion to rest, please try to keep this to the forum and other private forums as best as possible.
  8. I have hands on time with the real belts as I was a member of the costume department on both seasons of Andor, they’re a very thin rubber or rubber like material
  9. The belt is actually a strip of ribbed rubber not nylon, the greebs are entirely new pieces, Kama is new, it doesn’t share any parts with the shoretrooper that I recall
  10. Oh yeah that would make sense I just read it wrong
  11. I’ll step in and debunk that actually, the armour on both seasons has always been matte black, not green in any way, to the point that on set we were issued cans of matte black for touch ups and scuffs, hycote matte black if I remember correctly
  12. I imagine it'll be better to make a new area for these as they aren't part of the imperial army or even the security forces so any development discussions would be better off seperate from the army trooper development.
  13. Going to chip in, for those that don’t know me I’m Will 10 year legion member and a film and TV costume assistant, I was the costumer in charge of most things uniform on season 1 and 2 of Andor, most of the hard work has been done by the crl team and other contributors like my friend Fraiser etc, but if there are any other outlying things I’m happy to see if I can be of any help. there’s actually a few more than the door guard that had E-11’s, a few of the patrolling troopers outside the base and I believe most of the troopers that escort Sgt Kimzi into the vault when they catch the heist in progress (including Kimzi) I may as well get ahead of the curve as I’ve already seen people discussing it elsewhere, the mina-rau soldiers are the exact same uniforms form Aldhani, people are speculating they’re a new browner version however it’s just the colour grading, though I understand discussions still need to be had as obvious going off “screen accuracy” they look different even if they were the same uniforms from before. some of them have the new addition of the goggles which are the helmet goggles that have been reduced in size.
