ISB Tactical Agent - CRL Discussion
Blackwatch replied to IcyTrooper's topic in Imperial Security Bureau
chest and back armor cleared and locked. regarding the suit, many of us have the black suit already, and we will be re using it. I see no reason to create an all-new set of text to create an all new version of the suit. To me the costume builders on set re-used what they had, and that is how I will write the text. Ultimately, as we continue to create these CRLs, the LMO has the final say on what is approved text, and we have had to go back and change things with LMO input. Regrding seam hight, anyone who served in the US military in the 80s and wore BDUs knows that the blouse will fall to different hieghts on different people depending on build. My blouse falls to the top of my thigh but someone just an inch and a half taller than me wearing the same size blouse will have it appear to fall higher becaues they are taller. When we wrote "just to mid thigh" that means it will not go lower but higher IS permitted-based on all the discussion from S1 on both the green and black unforms, input from he people wearing them on set, staff discussion and what the the LMO ultimately agreed on. Shoulder armor and biceps are next, copied from the Security trooper CRL with prooposed changes: Change log 1.0 Shoulder armor: I may be wrong on this, but are these just common R1 stormtrooper shoulderbells? I dont see the grooves present on the regular Security or Alhani or Mudtrooper shoulders. I see no shoulder strap around the arm like Tks have. The whole shoulder armor just seems to flop about, and do whatever it wants mostly moving back on the arm when worn and on top of the Supervisor Heert's tunic it rides up and floats. So if these are just R1 shoulderbells we would suitabley alter our text to: Shoulder Armor Rogue One style stormtrooper shoulder armor. The shoulders are considered effectively symmetrical; they may be worn interchangeably on the left and right shoulders. Shoulders are mounted to the shoulder strap via a 1" (25.4mm) up to 2" (50.8mm) webbing strap. A black elasic strap is permitted to help hold the armor in place. Biceps — Version One For basic approval a one-piece bicep is permitted. The bicep may appear “open” or split as seen on screen. Cover strips will appear on the front and back, covering joints if present. Bicep cover strips are raised and beveled with an added strip inset into the top of the bevel. Cover strips may be as deep as ½" (12.7mm) and up to ⅞" (23.5mm) in width, beveled on all four sides. Biceps are painted to match the armor and helmet. and shins. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Biceps are a two-piece design with the halves held together with hidden flexible cord and shall remain flexible. I had my doubts regarding the two piece design until i noted that Sgt Gharials' biceps are clearly split and moving apart. I think the bicep the poor trooper that Kleya went beast mode on was probably a one piece design. -
i have Jims armor and I have a metric frakton of Walts plastic. The flexible amor is wierd. It gives. Very handy, but the neck breaks. Tarrif was good enough to model up a replacement neck to be 3d printed in flexible material like TPU for us. ill be using the Jim armor for my own ISB build. Walt uses a top quality plastic. Gorgeous plastic. Now te edges of his molds where the mold meets the parting line, that gets a bit waffly, but as I said I have a LOT of Walts plastic, so I just work around it knowing that the edges need to be sorted out with care when cutting.

Very well reasoned Paul , its apprecated. im going to err on the side of Caution (and knowing how the LMOs approach what we do NOT see in references) and say the left name tape with a simple MEDIC in black or even blue as pointed out in the Wiki would be likely to recieve LMO blessing. Dropping that pouch can be accmplshed with very heavy fabric and a loop around the belt, with some plastic reinforcment inside it. For the box, less will be more towards acceptance by the LMO. Amazon is even kind enough to offer a pistol case molded in white

Del Meeko CRL Change proposals FEBRUARY 2025
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
So lets talk about the belt. Is there anything further to discuss? Text from the current CRL: Imperial Officer Under Belt The belt is constructed from leather or a leather-like material. A very slight texture is acceptable. Approximately 2" (51mm) in width, up to 3" (76mm) is acceptable. There are no loops or extra holes on the belt. A single large snap or rivet is visible approximately 1" (25mm) from the left side of the buckle. The buckle is constructed from a horizontally brushed metal, or metal looking material. The buckle size is approximately 2.62" (66mm) high and 4.12" (104mm) wide with 0.5" (13mm) radius rounded corners. Buckle is adorned with an Imperial Code Disk at the center. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Belt is made of non-textured leather. Two parallel grooves run the length of the belt 1/8" (3mm) in from edge. Snap is worn to the left of the wearer 1" (25mm) from the buckle edge. Buckle has a slight horizontal curve. -
CTPG ISB MOULDS DESIGN AND PRODUCTION
Blackwatch replied to ChrisThePropGuy's topic in Imperial Security Bureau
Hi Chris ive had a chance to review the files and compare to the images that were using to build the CRL, a series of good screengrabs. Likely the same you used. You seem to have the new shin correct. The only thing that catches me and its very minor is the sweep angle of the bicep cut out. It may be the way they rotate when you wear them, and how it was filmed. -
Back Armor neck replacement STL file
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Security Bureau
Matt I laugh but man, i know the struggle. Sebastian thank you for pulling this file together for us, this is necessary! -
Catching up on all the topics. Love the look and the fact its a real castle nut ( we hear castellated nut in the field a lot). Really enjoying watching the progress on this.

thanks for posting that , it brings up a question. I saw Kevin Weir is casting his in something flexible for his kits. And of course differnt boots will be different sizes. When you walk how well do these move with you? Any issues with popping off? Im gonna go out on a ledge and make the assumption you are doing these in PETG, my only concern is the way they are printed the stress may cause seperation along the X axis over time. I figure Ill have to print mine too , but ill print them at an angle.

@Deamos @Diet_Evil I want to say thank you not only for the collaboration and candor with which you guys are tackling this. I know ntohing about creating files, im the guy that buys them then prints. Seeing this work itself out , and seeing the challenges makes for some very interesting reading! Ill be the guy writing the CRL and eventually building Sgt Gharial, so im watching this one closely. Im also pricing MP40s. I would love to find one broke on Ebay! For the side support struts metal flashing or even thin bar stock from the hardware store and socket head screws to mount them would be my frist inclination. Especially if a nut or nut insert could be modeled in for mounting.

Del Meeko CRL Change proposals FEBRUARY 2025
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
after we clear the tactical vest proposal above, ill gladly move to the overbelt, underbelt, thermal and rear pouches. -
yeah, otherwise the differeces page would require a crl of its own. I have seen that declaration in the past. Ill swing back to the helmet section, make that change, add that to the L2 remarks, and annotae the edit date line at the bottom remarking that this change was made.

Del Meeko CRL Change proposals FEBRUARY 2025
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
heres the next change log for our vest. Clearly one of the more complcated parts for Del. Change log 2.2 Tactical Vest The tactical vest and its pouches are made of black fabric similar to the flight suit material. Heavy black canvas is recommended. There are three M4 / M16 style magazine pouches fitted to the front of the vest, each filled by a rectangular package covered in the same fabric as the tactical vest. The packages fill the pouches completely, and extend above the pouch. Each package has a black gloss strip mounted to the front at the top, which should appear to be constructed from a similar material to the costume's hard armour parts. There is a black block on the right side of the vest matching references, held in place by one of the webbing straps described below There are a total of fourteen wide horizontal black webbing straps sewn onto the front of the tactical vest, with four stacked horizontally on either side of the pouches, and two at the front of each pouch. Straps are approximately 1" (25mm) wide and sewn to match reference images. The main shoulder straps are made from leather or leather-like material, which cross at the back and attach to the top edge of the vest on both sides. The front shoulder straps are attached to triglide buckles, which in turn attach to the top front edge of the vest with a shorter strap. The shoulder straps cross near the top of the back armor box. Each shoulder strap runs through a tri-glide at the rear before feeding into approximately 1" (25mm) wide side release buckles which attach to the top edge of the vest. There is a leather or leather-like waist strap (approximately 1" or 25mm wide) present at the back of the tactical vest, and it is attached to the vest with one quick release buckle on the right or left side of the vest at the wearer's option. This quick release buckle is hidden under the scout pouch, and is not seen when worn. A single adjusting tri-glide is centered on the back waist strap. There is a specific buckle greeblie mounted above the front tri-glide buckles on each side, matching reference images. There is a horizontal strip mounted to each front shoulder strap, several inches above the buckle greeblie. The strips should be made from the same material as the shoulder straps. The Flyye tactical vest is not accurate and will not be approved for use. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The vest is proportional to the wearer. See reference images and the Costume Gallery for placement of specific components. There are two vertical stitches near the inner edge of the horizontal webbing straps. This may be topstitched. All shoulder and waist straps are made of black leather or leather-like material. Vest front tri-glides are made with reference to the games 3D model, and are attached to the vest with straps that are approximately 1.37" x 1.37" (35mm x 35mm) wide. Buckle style greeblies made with reference to the 3D models are attached to the shoulder straps above the tri-glides. The front shoulder straps which go over the shoulder and continue to the back are made of 3 layers which are glued, sewed or bonded together. Stitching is permitted as long as the stitches are small and do not detract from the overall appearance. The first (bottom) layer is approximately 1.37" (35mm) The middle layer shall be approximately 1" (25mm) wide. The final layer is approximately 9/16" (15mm) wide. The layered part of the leather shoulder straps runs up over the shoulders and stops below the rear of the collar. It then continues on as an approximately 1" (25mm) wide black strap, passing through tri-glides and into side release buckles, which are held to the vest with straps that are approximately 1" (25mm) wide. The three magazine pouches fall below the bottom edge of the vest. The top of the pouch is in line with the bottom edge of the upper webbing strap. The bottom edge of the pouch may come close to but not touch the top edge of the overbelt. -
Paul your patch workup is interesting. Do we have any other views of the comic scans that would support it being any different than the standard patch. My thought this morning would be the medic logo on the side of the box with the tubes and wires coming out. i can cut those all day on my cricut and vinyl. We dont generally get too far off with what we dont know, the one case where we did was with the sappers and my wife embroidered the sapper tabs on her machine with a standard aurbesh typface converted to a SVG file that her machine reads. Now I would do it in vinyl and heat press it saving a step. There we departed from the "this is known" Im goign out in the weeds here myself but what Im thinking is something like this ------------------------------- % MEDIC --------------------------------- Anway Id love to get more input. Personally I see no reason not to include a somewat simpler variant of the Army trooper, Im sure CO dont exist in the lore but someone had to be trained to keep a trooper alive. We already have the medic mudtrooper CRL established and the comics predate that as precedent. hell a bunch of us have the Eduardo Groult inspired Medic Trooper armor, we dont have any markigns other than the green stripe up and over the top and back down, but we do wear green coveralls under the TK armor. If you havent seen them, they are different for sure. Paul would you mind punching up a CRL proposal using what we already have for the soft / cap version of the IAT as a reply to this topic? we have a lot of proposals being posted now, and Id want to keep things streamlined.
