  1. Base model complete, doubt I'll go for Specialist.... warm enough as is.😮 App pics have been sent!
  2. Belt is complete. Definitely going to use Velcro or snaps to hold it up during troops.
  3. Yes mark, I did not have that forearm completely tight, it was a sloppy test fit. And I have several snaps attached to the straps between the ab and cod so it can be adjustable to differing lengths to accommodate the belt.
  4. Thanks. The belt is 90% done, just need to attach the two boxes. Using Chicago screws, I'm using JB weld to glue the female half to the boxes, the screw in from behind.
  5. Sorry, been away. I used e6000, then carefully clamped them together for over 24 hours.
  6. Denis Vorbei of ArmoryShop on Etsy makes them. He's also a popular provider of entire DT kits.
  7. The CRLs mention putting 1 or 2 elastic straps on them across the gap, so that's what I did Instinctively.
  8. The suspender idea is ingenious. I'm almost thinking of 4 straps with how much heavier these are than ABS. My whole belt system is nylon webbing, as I was afraid elastic would stretch out too soon under the weight. I'll make a pair from elastic as well... I have a 2' diameter roll of it. I'll try attaching the straps to the highest point on the front of each thigh for my test troop at Salt Lake comic con in two weeks and see how it goes. Thanks a million!
  9. Could anyone post pics of how they tackled the suspension system? Jimmy's are much heavier than a typical TK set. I've built the belt with two vertical straps that are adjustable. 1: best place on the thighs to attach the straps? 2: did you only use two straps or go for four? Any tips will be much appreciated, as the thighs and shins are all I have left to conquer.
  10. Thanks, I did go ahead and chop the shoulders to fit as suggested and am well on my way.
  11. The DT build is being tricky. Similar to a classic TK or Shore/Tank trooper, but one major difference is the shoulder harness rig has to actually be load bearing if you plan to go for specialist designation. So I'll be bolting down/countersinking screws/covering, the faux buckles so they can suspend the grenade/ammo belt. But two questions I need answered are in the pic... can the shoulder flaps overlap, and is there a certain distance the collar tusks need to be?
  12. The DT build is being tricky. Similar to a classic TK or Shore/Tank trooper, but one major difference is the shoulder harness rig has to actually be load bearing if you plan to go for specialist designation. I decided to cut small horizontal slits into the chestplate to bear the brunt of the weight. Downsizing pics to add here, but I'm on FB as myself or The Madhouse Cosplay for WIP pics.
