  1. As nanotek suggested, I should point out I am a slim build, some kits may or may not be suitable due to this. 5'9" [176cm]
  2. Thanks Raider and Nanotek - Am slowly working thru kit pricing comparisons, etc. I'll chat with Nanotek re Altmans - nice to support local manufacturers if possible.
  3. No, I have just started researching the build.
  4. Good Afternoon troopers - I have just retired my Death Trooper kit as my body was having issues with total weight, restricted movement and especially sitting down. I am researching a Shadow Scout as scouts are great and black is cool. I have a lot of research ahead of me re kit parts ordering, from who, cost, etc - would appreciate whatever guidance existing Shadow Scouts can provide to ease the path. Regards, RageQuit
  5. Thanks guys for the heads up - uhm now I have already lined the armour with felt. Have done a couple of full kitted test runs and it is quieter with the weight gain being minimal at worst. With that said I am now researching methods of waterproofing the felt to see if that will assist with moisture absorption. Have been recommended the below: will pick some up this week and test. https://waproo.com.au/products/waterproofer/
  6. My suit is 3D printed and a bit rough on the inside. I have smoothed and sanded it as best I can it however I have been recommended to line the underside to prevent my undersuit being worn away. I have purchased some thin felt which I'm hoping will not only solve the above issue, but also prevent wear when the armour rubs against itself and hopefully eliminate some of the plastic banging noise. As we all get sweaty the undersuit can be washed, I'm wondering if the felt may absorb the sweat and smell as well? Kinda hard to wash armour. Love feedback on this, what do you troopers use?
  7. I have mostly finished the upper armour re-strapping, pulled out the original velcro and went with heavy duty snaps and 1&1/2" heavy duty elastic. All the armour self centers itself and fits nicely now. https://drive.google.com/open?id=13_6EjCCqAQWfpoRqMIB8ncuTzyQMWzI9 https://drive.google.com/open?id=19A6-wVQ1lRW6bT7xW3_1BCmqrhILdMGg https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zAVdzFx3f4uvZOEV34qBJQgfWJKSzRaI https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-6E30p9Pa2OFZSIBaVWx9aOWZnYOCT5c
  8. Thanks very much Chris - will have a close look at your photos this weekend.
  9. Thanks Chris, Looks like I will be ripping of the pre-installed webbing and redoing - i definitely need some give to aid movement. NB: Have you had any loss in elasticity with any of your strapping?
  10. Hi, My build has just been approved, I am re-strapping some of the kit and have had suggestions of using elastic to allow some additional movement. I wondering how other builds have been strapped with elastic, how successful it is compared to the more inflexible webbing, durability of the elastic, etc. This was recommended:- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007XU23ZU/ref=twister_B07GTLCYB2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&fbclid=IwAR2Bh6Tnhm90Q53xvQJPAc9iK7_uI3QwJkK9iIKQXDs4pcuc1-Xs8FIiMlg Local supplier in Australia has this:- https://www.spotlightstores.com/by-the-metre/birch-non-roll-elastic/BP80211709 Thanks everyone.
  11. Potential deal breaker. Wearing helmet without shoulder rubber straps with buckles fitted - helmet has minimal movement front, back, left right before it hits armor.. With straps fitted, helmet hits straps/top of armor before it sits fully down onto my head. I have a normal neck, not too long or short. So helmet now does not slide all the way down, has no movement and my eyes can barely see out the bottom of the lens This fucking armor is fighting me all the way .https://drive.google...WIBUsgZCK9u0F-G
  12. My next question is going to be how the but plate and lower ab plates should align - would love to see side photos of these areas with and without belt. I think I will be getting the hair dryer out again as these pieces look like they need attention as well. https://drive.google...l_xaMzfcabyZ237 https://drive.google...q8XGMi5pGOlmCuk
  13. Hairdryer has provided the solution to soften the PLA+Flex. The front and rear top tabs are now aligned which has lifted the front armor plate slightly. Bent the lower side tabs on front and rear upper armor plates inwards - result is side of armor sits more flush to my body. Softened and slowly aligned the collar and matching front armor plate areas to almost sit flush. With the top buckles straps and helmet on the slight gap will not be visible however I will get both pieces flush eventually, just want to ensure the PLA does not over-stress and tear. Very happy as not cutting was required. https://drive.google...2NrmIBoBhhiNHPL https://drive.google...KQZlQ4F6f2oMp3w https://drive.google...UQ4GBAjxj7TdKGq https://drive.google...vzJrs2PKBd_zK_e
  14. More test fitting this morning - paid attention to lining up front and rear top tabs which lifted the front armor. With helmet on this is no issue with front height. I am going to heat the front armor lower side tabs, bend them back which will also lift the frontal part of the armor plate as well. At the moment the lower tabs flair out too much. On a side not this is the first time I have tried on my helmet with armor - helmet hits everything !!! haha - there is virtually no movement forward, backward, left, right. https://drive.google...0FjgB1G02zFmAzM https://drive.google...ZJmjiVMMqidDokU https://drive.google...HKK_z_Q_KCHG4As Tried adding the images - only hyperlinks are displaying - can't seem to work out how to do that..
  15. Yes - I'm planning on cutting the neck collar/tusks and dropping them to align with chest plate once I have re-aligned the chest plate itself.
