Welcome! It’s always great to see another Muddy in the making. Are the images you be shown ones you’ve purchased it ones you are creating? There are a lot of inaccuracies that would need to be fixed.

06A / 6A - same thing. The former is the actual item code. https://rubberfun.nl/tubes-hoses/56-corrugated-hose-105-cm-40.html -

You’ll want two of the 06A corrugated tubes. -

That’s definitely the style of boot you need. -

Welcome to the Spec Ops forums!! Great to se another Mud build under way. Looks like you’ve made a great start deciding on some of the items. My only comment is on the boots. They appear to be jackboots rather than Soviet Officer style boots. Have you confirmed the height measurement? They need to reach just under your knee. if you have any questions feel free to ask, or you’ll find my build pinned within the Mudtrooper section. -
224th imperial swamp trooper gunner : "Korso"
JAFO replied to mike ford's topic in Mudtrooper Heavy Gunner (Korso)
The IOC had a similar quandary with the Mimban Officer but they settled on a backplate not being required to meet CRL. Most Mimban Officers have Criss straps that hold the breastplate in place. -
Oh, and for weathering I recommend the use of acrylic paints. Various shares of greys. Check out my build thread for extensive detail on my weathering process.

For a one stop shop at the right price I would certainly recommend Jim Tripon (Jimmiroquai) for the soft parts. Great quality and made to measure. For the Plash Palatka take a look around eBay and Etsy. Try and secure one with leather grommets if you can. Ask the seller if unsure.

The buckle is the same as the standard Mudtrooper. The most available ‘close enough’ buckle is used on Gentex chin straps like the HGU-55. The straps appear to have a pretty specific weave. -
I received a PM asking if I had a template for the foam backplate 'wings'. I do! Thought I would post here for future builders. Keep in mind this was specifically for Jim's kit. This template should be printed to scale in A4. \ If you have problems printing this template to size feel free to PM and I'll email directly.

Back again with another update. This video shows how to correctly thread the respirator. I hope it helps!

I promised some pics and here they are. Apologies for the delay! Chest Plate Boots and Coat Layers Goggles Tunic and Belt -
Apologies for the delay but here's a link to folder where you can download the files for the E10 MOUNT and D-RING. If you want to use a full metal rectangle D-RING you're looking to buy with with an ID of 32mm. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1a5tB61Q0M5FJaKRouhqBFPYTyYIDhGr4?usp=sharing These files were created by the amazing Empire3D and based on my research.

I've been watching the Korso build come together and have been actively trying to source more information on this character. I'm glad to report I have 'some' information that will help shape the build and there are some significant differences to the Mudtrooper. The chest plate is 100% same as the Range Trooper including the same lights. As already suggested there is a pipe coming off the left of the chest plate, just above the elongated rectangle indent. Whilst the goggles are the same as the Muddy the strapping is completely different. No elastic appears present, it is all webbing. There is no large buckle present. The belt and boxes are the same as the Muddy but he wears the rivet on his right. The gloves are the same style as the R1TK and Shoretrooper. This glove variant was also seen on Muddys. The tunic is black and a different style to the Muddy. There is no central zip. It is more a classic officer style tunic. The pants differ from the Muddy. They don't have the reinforced thigh panel. The boots appear to be calf length rather than knee height. They also have a textured heel. They appear to be jackboots, more inline with the classic TIE style boots. I can share some reference images in due course but thought I would share this info ASAP. -
I promised I would return from time to time to add updates and other info to my thread, so here I am! I received a P.M. recently asking how to make the sling for the E-10. Rather than try and explain in a longwinded post I made a quick video tutorial instead. Hope it helps!

I use the same bracket and d-ring for both ends. Reference appears to show them as the same. Mine are glued then screwed. The pic below is before I added the screw. I’ll see if I can find a file for the bracket. I’m out of town right now but will post again on the weekend.

Looks like oils are still leeching from the rubber. Another big wash, dry and light sand should get you ready to prep with the adhesion primer and paint. -

Great work - it’s coming along nicely! Hope you’ve got your rigging solution sorted. If you’re still deliberating you’ll find lots of advice on Jim’s kit in the pinned build threads. -
There is no difference that I’m aware of. They were reused R1 props for both troopers. Detachments determine their CRL requirements differently. Arguably the MEPD requirements for the E11 are more complex.

Great to see you back in the game and moving at pace. Keep it up! -
I wanted to share a little more information regarding one of the challenges facing a MITM (Muddy in the Making).....dyeing the Plash Palatka! I dyed three during my research of the character and by the third I had fracked the code. Here's my step-by-step guide... 1. First up, give the Plash a couple of SUPER HOT washes. The hottest your machine can handle but around 90degrees is fine. 2. Once dried, give the Plash a wash with a colour remover. I used the following product which was awesome... 3. Next, it's time to dye! Of all the dues I tested by far the best was the INTENSE BLACK Dye Pod from Dylon. You put this in the wash with the Plash following the instructions to the letter. It is also a good idea to put some salt in with the wash as this helps with the process. And that's pretty much it! Here's a shot of the dyed Plash against a couple of others, on of which in it's original unwashed state. One thing I did do after the dyed Plash was fully dried was to put it through on a cold wash cycle with a fabric softener. It came out with this really cool mottled effect... If you don't fancy taking the dyeing route, and it's not the best option for everyone, you can also use a vinyl and fabric spray like the one produced by DupliColor. I tested this on another Plash and it was very effective. So there you have it. The Plash Palatka made easy. And, of course, once you've spent the time dyeing the Plash there will come another time when you will want to make it beautifully muddy. Enjoy!

Whilst my own build is complete (for now) it is not my intention to move on without a trace. I aim to come back from time to time and add updates and further information to assist others with their builds. A question I have been asked often is "where do the buckles from the Yugo backpack go?" so, here's a quick explanation of what you need and how to use them. The one caveat to this is whether or not you can actually find the buckles! Given these are real world found parts they are becoming more scarce over time.
