Not that can be shared yet but the details are the same as a Shoretrooper back. Hopefully we’ll have more info soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I've edited the link. Try again and see what happens.

I should add these pics are to support later review and NOT reopen discussion on elements already sent to the locked thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I have uploaded a new folder of reference shots: https://www.flickr.com/photos/150772035@N08/albums/72157700908903094 There are a number of screen grabs which help confirm various aspects of the kit including the following: - Confirmation of Imperial Cog patches on BOTH shoulders - Hose connectors on backplate - R1 belt boxes The pics also raise a few questions, including the possibility that the 'square' on the LHS of the helmet goggle strap *may* be different colours for different ranks. All TBC!
-
Solo only wears one belt - the leather one. I promise you that both belts thread through.

Sorry to digress from the CRL discussion for a moment. I'm not in a position to share the image publicly at present. Hopefully in time. Whilst I'm not a fan of the Jakks figure I have to admit they got some of the back detail right. You'll see in this pic the dropdown. The material is not confirmed - leather or webbing - but both belts thread through this. The ports/tubes for the hoses are no more complicated than what is shown on the Jakks figure. Two ports/tubes - same colour as the armour - that protrude from the top. The hoses fit over them. These ports/tubes would be approx. 22mm if you're using the correct hoses. In this image I have marked a red square where a greeblie is affixed. It's this greeblie that holds the respirator neck strap in position.

Here is my input to consider for the wording. Evidence is based on imagery of the rear of production used kits. The MT backplate is virtually the same to the one that has been approved for the Patrol Trooper but some of the detail is different as the box/greeblies match the Shoretrooper backplate. The 'half circle' detail is present. There are two hose connectors that extend from the top of the backplate. Hoses are attached over these connectors. There backplate features two black foam ‘wings’ ala the Shoretrooper. The webbing for the respirator attaches to the top of the backplate. It appears to be secured by a black retainer/clip. There is a ‘drop down’ loop on the centre back of the backplate through which both belts are threaded.

100% agree. As stated previously we should not specify a brand. That’s not practical. However offering (not specifying) reference to a Pantone is useful. In regards to timing I’ve always supported “do it right, not fast”. With the digital release of Solo only a week away it will allow us ti capture any new finds.
-
Looks good, though I do think we need to address the colour reference at the end of this process, and before the CRL goes live.

The MT backplate is virtually the same to the one you e shown here but some of the detail is different. I’ll update on the detail later but for now the back is all green and no black is present. There are two hose connectors the top. There are two black foam ‘wings’ ala the ST. There is also a ‘drop down’ loop through which both belts are threaded. This info is based on an actual kit rather than the Jakks toy which is far from 100% correct.

We are reviewing what’s being presented to us in sections. I’m just clarifying that the Medic bicep is covered off as an ‘optional’ in the v1 CRL snd I think that’s the right place for it.
-
Basically you’re saying the same thing as already said Andrew. If you take time to review the CRL front page you’ll see the Medic bicep is listed under optional.

The good thing is we know EXACTLY what base colour was used - Colorite Techno grip 350U Green Matt. Trouble is, it would be hard for anyone to buy from the supplier. At least with a guide as to what the colour should look like everyone around the world should be able to get within a reasonable colour range.
-
Having worked as a GML I agree that better information and less ambiguity helps get to a decision faster.
-
Looks fine regarding details. Given we are now getting in to the hard parts section we just need to be consistent as to how we refer to the colour. Is Olive Grey the best descriptor? Do we even use the screen used Pantone 350U as a reference/indicator? We know the green used was a matte so it might be worth adding that in to the mix, e.g. Parts should be painted Green Matte (see Pantone 350U as a guide), and weathered moderately. In addition do we want to put in Lvl 2 descriptor for bicep colouring? OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Right Bicep Red color is Toyota Red 3E5. Yellow color is Montana Gold Shock Yellow.

I vote let’s go to next items on the list.

It's important to remember that the lower belt boxes are not simply rectangle boxes but have shape and form. They have bevels and are thinner in some sections, e.g. the Standard Dropbox has a smaller bottom section when compared to the top. With that in mind here are the approx. dimensions of the boxes - L x W x D Small = 76mm x 26.5mm x 17.8mm Medium = 79.6mm x 35.5mm x 17.8mm Standard Dropbox = 114mm x 53.2mm (upper) 47.6mm (lower) x 16.8mm (upper) 11.2mm (lower) Long Dropbox = 205mm x 52.2mm x 16.6mm

There are definitely changes required to some of the descriptions as the detail is incorrect. Notes and suggested changes in YELLOW below... UPPER BELT - LEATHER: The belt is constructed from a non-textured leather or a leather-like material. Approximately 2" (50.8 mm) in width, up to 3" (76.2 mm) is acceptable. There are no loops on the belt. A single large snap or rivet is visible approximately 1" (25.4 mm) from the buckle. The belt may be worn with the snap to the right or left of the wearer. The buckle is a standard officer buckle. Buckle is adorned with an Imperial Code Disk at the center. Please refer to the Imperial Buckle reference page for information on accurate and inaccurate style buckles. Two boxes shall be present on either side of buckle. Dimensions are approximately 2 1/2" (63.5 mm) by 3 1/2" (88.9 mm) by 1" (25.4 mm) thick. This is INCORRECT. The sizes here are for the OT Imperial Officer boxes. The Mudtrooper has the smaller R1 style boxes. Correct sizing is 2" (50.8mm) x 3" (76.2mm) x 1" (24.5mm). Boxes shall be painted olive grey and moderately weathered. Suggest amendment: Boxes shall be painted the same colour as the chest plate and heavily weathered. Belt shall be weathered appropriately. LOWER BELT - WEBBING: Belt is black and is made from two nylon web straps sewn together with a zig-zag pattern which is approximately 3" (76.2mm) wide. Suggest amendment to include imperial/metric as with all other descriptions: ...is approximately 3" (76.2mm) wide. Belt boxes options: Option A. two thin, two medium and one long tabbed box. Option B Two thin, two medium one hinged drop box. Suggest removing the above as there are no options for the above. Mudtroopers have one configuration: The belt features five boxes - 1 x standard drop box, 2 x small, 2 x medium, 1 x long drop box. Boxes are olive grey grey with moderate weathering. Suggest amendment: Boxes shall be painted the same colour as the chest plate and moderately weathered. Belt shall be worn loose across lower abdomen. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Long drop box is hinged It is also evident that troopers can be seen wearing both belts or the leather belt on its own. We need a line to state that the leather belt is mandatory and the webbing belt is optional. Unless I need to respond to any return commentary that's all from me on this section.

There are four images I can reference to that show the buckle - Han, Val, Medic and generic MT. The last two can be seen in the SOLO Visual Guide. Buckles were the exception rather than the rule but they did exist.

I think wording for the boots needs a tweak. Most notably remove the reference to Kersey boots as it is incorrect. Here's my thinking... Smooth non-textured, leather or leather-like material. Style is same as Soviet Officer boots. Boots should form fit to the calf and not be loose. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): • Boots do not have a zipper. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): • Boots are made of leather. ◦ Not vinyl or PVC. • Exact replicas of Soviet Officer Boots In regards to the gloves it is known that the R1 style were used but these were mostly by characters rather than standard MTs. I think it would be good to include a line such as "R1 style gloves are also acceptable for approval"
-
If there's no comments from anyone else I think it's time to move to the next section.
-
I think everything is pretty good with this now though I still question what is meant by "two panels on either side of the front, hidden zipper". Is this referring to the seams that run up the centre on each side of the front of the tunic? If so, those seams are approx. 6inches from the centre.
-
Do we want to expedite or get it right?
-
A few things to consider here. There are several images available that show how the bottom of the jacket parts. There is no zipper visible. Given the tunic appears largely inspired by an FO Officer it would follow that no bottom zip exists. Beyond this, I have anecdotal evidence from my on-set contact that no zip was present on the bottom of the tunic.
