  1. The last thing I was working on lately was changing the gloves. I decided to buy parade leather gloves of the Polish Army in white, intended probably for the Navy for the dress uniform. At first, I thought the easiest way would be to just paint them and that's it. However, I decided at the very beginning that I would use a primer to prevent the green paint from crumbling, that if it fell off, there would be no white underneath, but a different shade of green. For this purpose, I bought a typical leather dye, unfortunately the only suitable green color is the one shown in the photo, dark olive. After a few days, when the dye had dried, I used Montana Olive Green paint. I am very pleased with the effect. Check it out for yourself: And on this matter, I have a question. Are the three stripes on the top of the gloves seen here acceptable for Level 2 certification? Do I have to additionally sew something on them? @Blackwatch
  2. As I continued to fine-tune my character's appearance, I finally managed to change the clasp on the collar. I used the metal button normally used to fasten my jeans and then painted it green. The effect is visible below: Is it correct now? @Blackwatch
  3. I'm back with goggle corrections. I painted the rubber strip green, as well as the helmet and the rest of the equipment. Now the whole set looks like this: How do you rate it now in terms of certification to the second level? @Blackwatch
  4. I'll try to paint this tape like the rest of the equipment. We'll see how it works out.
  5. After my Level One certification, it's time to become a specialist, reaching Level Two. In the case of my character, to achieve this I need to modify my goggles among other things. Below I would like to present you a new pair of goggles that I have prepared for the second level. As a basis, I chose the Polish army goggles, model CG1. Which at the factory looked like below: I removed from them the original rubber strap with a cover for glasses, a sponge around the eyes and nose. The whole thing has been painted in Montana Olive Green. In place of the black rubber strip, I installed a new, olive-green one. Ultimately it looks like this: In the photos the rubber strap appears to be brown, in fact it is a classic military olive green / khaki rubber. Below is a daylight photo: What do you think about it? Are the goggles now eligible for Level 2 certification? @Blackwatch
  6. Hi! I'd like to present my IAT role debut. I took part in the fantasy convention "Fantasmagoria" in Gniezno:
  7. Thank you! Now I'm going to get blaster, next TK belt and become specialist :)
  8. Thank you! I think I did what you ask for
  9. Finish! I would like to inform you that I have completed the character creation process. I am currently waiting for admission to Legion 501st - Polish Garrison EDIT: I'm TX-21371, hello everybody!
  10. I started working with gloves. I found one pair made of leather which I also painted green, and I also added three stripes. Unfortunately, in the middle of painting the second glove, I ran out of paint. Therefore, I only show my right hand. I'm waiting for delivery. I must admit that I was inspired by Kessel's idea, but I chose a slightly different material, sackcloth tape. Painted glove and straps ready to be mounted: And this is what happened after the first painting. When I have the paint, I will try to apply additional layers only to the strips:
  11. I don't know how you view it, but during the last presentation of my character, I didn't like the visible difference in the colors of the equipment. The main belt and harness were of a different color than the pouches mounted on them. Therefore, I decided to paint everything the same. I like it a lot more now. The same painting makes it look much more authentic, "as if it were meant to be", at least that's what I think. Previous: Now:
  12. And here are my boots. I bought them very cheap and I'm so happy about that.
  13. I'll show few photos of my helmet: 1) All parts are connected: 2) Painting: 3) Inside liner and chinstrap mounting: 4) And one Easter egg - this helmet is very similar to german ww1 and ww2 helmets, so I decided to mark it in the same style like german soldiers during wars
  14. I'm back. Yesterday I finished DIY work with my helmet components. Meanwhile I bought boots and painted them. Now I introduce you my character almost done. I'm just waiting for french green gloves.
  15. So can I treat them as correct to character?
  16. Yes, it has a zipper on the inside of the shoe. It was one of the most important aspects that I paid attention to when looking for them.
  17. Ok, thank you. I'll paint them green. I think they'll look much better.
  18. I asked about the task of this cut. The manufacturer replied that there is rubber underneath, it is probably supposed to improve the comfort of putting on the shoe.
  19. I also don't like this cut. I got a contact with the manufacturer of these shoes and I am trying to persuade him to make a special pair that will be devoid of this cut-out. If the negotiations go my way, I will order them and paint them in the right color. Btw. Today I am supposed to get the Montana Gold Olive Green paint recommended here. I really care about all-season shoes. Most of you recommend warm shoes here, my feet wouldn't stand it, especially at summer events
  20. I would also like to present my goggles here. These are goggles by Uvex. I removed the logos of this company from them, changed the carrying strap. In the next part, I plan to replace this strap with an olive version and install plastic regulators also in olive green color. I wonder if I should paint the goggles frame green? Please give me your opinion.
  21. Thank you for welcoming me here, for your reply and kind words. Of course, I will adjust my shoes and gloves to the applicable standard. The final character appearance as presented by user Kessel is the one I am aiming for. As for the button case. In this regard, I am constantly thinking about how to make it not needed, but above all not visible. I don't have an idea for it yet, but I'm working on it. I will consult my seamstress in the near future. Maybe she will come up with something? The presence of this button results from the design assumptions of the Dutch military suit. Originally the button was brown, I changed it to green to make it less visible.
  22. My belt with pouches and harness
  23. My coverall front. It's a conversion of a dutch army military coverall. I modified the collar and cuffs, added pockets on chest and cargo on thighs. On shoulders we can see IAT patches made in Poland.
