  5. Easiest of all This costume is made using the deep-drawing process. So my opinion and experience. There is nothing wrong with 3D printing and everyone has their own opinion and should have it. I deep-drawn my costume in high-gloss black HIPS. No painting, lightweight parts, highly flexible and stable. The rest of the Glenke and Greeblies are molded and cast in resin or made of PVC. In the prototype, all add-on parts are still 3D printed. All very light and very comfortable to wear.
  6. Hello So my costume is 95% finished and only needs a little revision. My models correspond 100% to the Hot Toys figure and this comes from the series. Since my costume can be made from ABS or PVC or hips it is very light and flexible, which is why I moved away from 3D. For this costume it will be important that the proportions of the individual parts fit together. And the size adaptability of the wearer and their joints. IT DEPENDS ON THE PROPORTIONS. THIS IS THE WAY.
  7. Hello chaos Great, you've put in the work again and are making progress. Text-wise it's always a bit difficult for me because with my German I always have to translate everything first and then sometimes things go wrong. But I can then serve with photos and contribute to the discussion with my Crl example. Greatings Andreas
  9. This will later ensure that all dark troopers really look the same and are in a height range of 1.85 m to a maximum of 2 m. These dimensions include shoes and helmet
  10. Hello Dark trooper friends I started a kind of CRL to get the discussion going a little. Unfortunately this is still in German (Laugh) so you can still learn a little German.... Fun 🙂 Please everyone remember that these are m costume is a standard size, which means that the costume is not adjusted to the wearer, but vice versa. This is achieved via the heel size of the shoes or insoles and the height of the upper body armor. I tested this and it works. People with a height of 1.75 to 1.90 can wear this costume. The optimal height would be 1.80m since the Dark Tropper is only 1.90m. Our human Dammy was 1.88m, so anything goes. greetings from Germany Andrew https://imgur.com/a/7NaxVK8
  11. Hello Thanks Yes, you could definitely do that once all the work is finished. I even plan to create a construction plan. We are a 4-man Dark Trooper fan group and my original plan was to build everyone a costume that would make us all appear the same size. greeting Andrew
  12. Sorry 🙂 here is it complete in english. Andreas https://imgur.com/a/uM9B7vq
  13. Hello everyone. Here is my complete construction report and the video of the first step. https://imgur.com/a/qPowcAp With you all a nice week end and have fun with my Construction report. Andreas
  14. Hello all Dark Trooper friends After almost two years of research, planning and construction, I am sending my first prototype of my deep-drawn DARK TROOPER ARMOR. Not all of the small parts are 100 percent original, but we can start our discussion. For me, this costume is wearable and it gives the wearer an illusion of being a droid. Let the discussion begin. With Imperial greetings Andrew Here are the Photos https://imgur.com/a/LBnc2GW
  16. I would be happy if you would show a few pictures of your projects so that we can exchange ideas and avoid any unnecessary mistakes that may already be there. For example, my hands are not yet accurate and the side closure of the breastplate is not there yet, etc. So send a few pictures and let's discuss in advance whether all this effort has any chance of being successful. I've been building the project for 2.5 years now and have already made a few changes and new buildings. So friends of the Dark Trooper lets start. Talk about it. Andrew
  17. The armor has a joint I built in the arm and knee joints, which allows the arms and legs to move normally but also keeps the armor together and in position.
  18. For now it is only the prototype and not yet the final end product. I'm still making some changes and additions. For example, the shoe armor can be adjusted to the wearer so that everyone is the same size, as the dark trooper is 1.90 meters tall. The size can be adjusted using different shoe soles. I am 1.78 meters tall and with the shoes in the photo and later with the helmet I am 1.90 meters tall. The armor is designed so that different body figures can fit into it. Of course, once you reach a certain limit, it's over at some point, but it's adjustable.
  19. Hello to all dark trooper fans I'm now sending a few pictures that you can discuss together. These are my preliminary shapes from deep drawing, the details are not yet accurate and some parts are not yet. But the main thing was whether it could even be implemented as a costume and in my opinion it is. As a deep-drawn costume, it is very light and easy to wear and the HIPS is very flexible and already has a high gloss finish. I will start a construction report in the next few weeks as soon as I have everything finished. But take a look at the pictures and have a discussion. I am also grateful for every suggestion and idea. greatings Andreas
  20. The main problem will be the narrow waist circumference and the knee joints at the back. I think the hands will be doable The side closure of the breastplate will be difficult to reproduce in some cases on the stomach. What do you think ? 100% will be very difficult. Since most of the joints are hollow and you can see through them, I work with mirror foil here
  21. Hello everyone What about the Hot Toys figure of the Dark Trooper, I compared it with the film pictures and I have to say it is very good. I measured this figure and completely converted it to size. I then built a suit of armor out of cardboard to test whether it could be worn by a human. Then I built all the deep-drawn molds. I've spent 2 years on this now. Then I developed the joints, which are fixed and movable in two levels and visually closed at the front and back. We would have to discuss whether this is ultimately enough. The only question I now have is whether it has to be 100% accurate or to what extent deviations are permissible. greating Andreas
