  1. Hello Spec Ops, So last time I posted I went straight into working on trimming the backplate and the front plate which was the easiest thing to do and it was recommended by Walter that the Return Edge should be ranging at around 3mm which isn’t that bad but it’s better than nothing. Now, when it comes to the back plate I had to do some modification to make it match the 3D version of the back plate but with my own taste and if anyone wants to give it a shot. So here is my backplate what it looks like untrimmed and ready to be assembled: The first thing I got to was making my own rectangular greeble(the piece that goes on the lower left of the backplate and let me tell you it was a gigantic pain in the ass since I had to make sure the rectangular area was flat as a board cut so many small plastic pieces that would make the greeble come to life and got some of my fingers stabbed and grazed my lower finger with utility scissors(it was that hectic). Images on the diameter of the greeble if anyone is curious Next was the shoulder wedges since Walter didn’t give me the shoulder wedges or doesn’t make them to begin with, I was able to get his straps. Now I did have a 3D printed version of a shoulder wedge that I will link since I made my version of the shoulder wedge with this 3D part as a template and here is what it look like as a finish product - The left side is my shoulder wedge and the right is the 3D shoulder wedge: The link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4747985 Diameter of my shoulder wedge: Rear: 1mm Top and the sides : 3.4mm This is quick the center details were not that difficult where with that wooden tip I used a 3/16 wooden dowel and used about a 3 mm in length and I used a round gray plastic to make the other piece of the center details where it is between 3-4mm thick and 3.4mm long. Now this was something I had to do was made these studs looking things that are located on the upper part of the boxes where the filters would be located and there not that difficult to put in and there’s images of how thick they should be. Now here is what my back plate looks like so far and its been a tedious process but I’m almost done and soon I will be getting the side connectors from Walter soon either by next week or the week after but once the backplate is done its then on to the chest plate and creating a strapping system for the back and chest plate. However, while I wait for the side connectors I will be working on the shins and they shouldn’t be that difficult and thankfully I have the boots and I will be able to see how it goes more to come whenever I can. Also the respirator tubes are from the Sean Mudtrooper Files, the shins are also Sean Mudtrooper Files and this weekend I will have the shoulder bells and other pieces for the IST. By Next year I will be able to get the soft goods from Jim and get the biceps either from Walter or from Imperial Surplus I'll decide on that when I get closer to acquiring them.
  2. So I think I might help with some your question. So with the goggles they usually glue the straps on the resin part of the goggles to anchor them. Sometimes the goggles use a railing like hook on each side to wrap the stap around the goggles to make them functional(it's only applicable to Sean's mudtrooper goggle files). As for the lense it's all of the above from cutting, bending(a bit I think) and gluing. However, I think it is best to glue them on any flat or any surfaces that can help support the lens on the goggles to make it look authentic but thats just speculation since I wish I have the answer but hope it's close enough.
  3. Does anyone know(with the image provided) where someone could find and/or knows someone who makes this version of the Telemetry piece for the Imperial Security Trooper?(Besides Jim Tripon and Walter(WTF)). Since the telemetry I have is for the mudtrooper, these pieces are completely different in details if u take a closer look and it's a headache to find.
  4. No comment on that but lll still be the crash test dummy for some of the files I acquired so its not too complicated for any new comers.
  5. I'm back Spec Ops, So right here is what I have gathered a few things from stuff I Printed with the Sean Files and now from Walter from Walts Trooper Factory(Image down Below the texts) to show what is my progress in gathering the pieces for the IST armor. Now with that being said I am sill missing a lot of stuff and not only I'm anxious but frustrated, I'm still glad I have these in my possession but hear me out. I really want to get to the assembly on the armor but I cant since now I will have to probably have to wait another half a year for Walter to mold the plastic to get everything else(I wish I was joking but the request/order began in December and they arrived this week, most of it had to be the weather and machine problems but u get where I'm coming from). Other members are either too busy or no where to be found in the forum(I ain't gonna argue on that since every one has a life and I do too) or send people messages that is simple, short or not too complicated to respond but ignore me while they seem to be active in the forums and that really pisses me off. Now thankfully I have a plan B but the problem is trying to find someone to print them for me without annoying them too much but if Walter stuff doesn't come out great I at least have the files in my possession. More updates to come soon.
  6. Hello Spec Ops, I have some updates that I want to post as I am still committed to this costume but at a small paste(for the better). This page going forward(I wish I can delete old posts that aren't necessary but I cant) I will begin with assembling the armor part of the costume and as for the weapons they will be separate posts as this will focus primary on the costume itself. I will leave a list of stuff that I have acquired or will acquire for the IST, along with texts highlighted with links to the source so anyone wont be lost when assembling the costume and grab the correct stuff. All of this couldn't have been done by members of the SpecOps who helped me and a lot of research(no joke). Soft Goods: Pants/Tunic/Cap - Haven't Acquired = There are 2 people that can deliver the goods at a good price: Jim Tripon contact via email here on the forum(Head to the Mudtroopers section of the forum to get his email). Horus(PM either on the 501st or SpecOps forum). Boots - Acquired = There are 4 places to get them for either replication or authenticity(Note: If you are a half size of a number like 10.5 get a size 10 don't go over unless u want blisters, I went a size over and regret it): Source I. Hessen Antique here in the US Source II. Crowprops in South America. Source III. Horus(PM on the 501st forum and/or Spec Ops Forum). Source IV. Epic Militaria in the UK. Belt - Acquired = Either Wampa Wear or DarmansProps who's on Etsy(Edge grooves needed). Belt Boxes - Acquired = Either BaileysBuildsDesigns(either though her website or Etsy) or Philoprops on Etsy too. Also a former Mudtrooper named Bozzy made some Belt Boxes on the Thingiverse. Code disks - Acquired = Either BaileysBuildsDesigns(either though her website or Etsy) or Philoprops on Etsy too. Gloves - Acquired = Ravelgloves on Etsy(Requires hand size and color) they look like the image on the CRL and also a good price. Armor goods: = All of the armor stuff can be acquired by these vendors from my research or word of mouth: Jim Tripon[JT]. Horus[HS](PM either on the 501st or SpecOps forum). Walter from Walts Trooper Factory[WTF]. Imperial Surplus[IS]. I would say Sean's Mudtrooper Files[SMF],but apparently WIX was charging the owner to keep "Mudtrooper.co.uk" website at a high price to make the website available for everyone to get the files for free. But I do have the files in my possession so PM me if u want some pieces. Small Parts and accessories I found for the IST: EVA foam(ranging from 3mm-6mm) = either online or Hobby lobby Hardcore or 94 Anthracite Grey spray paint = Can be found either on Amazon or ACE hardware Triglides for Goggle straps Large Helmet Buckle Dark green face shield visor Rawlings Chin cup DGOL 10pcs 3/4in lock slider buckle zinc Polypropylene webbing strap 3/4 grey Strapcrafts 1.5in double side elastic(For the goggles) Strapcrafts 1in double side elastic(Also for the goggles) Country Brook Design - 1 Inch metal slide adjuster triglides TactiHold Universal Metal Belt Clip: Can fit up to 2 inches in height.(if you are going to use Bozzys Belt Boxes or need some belt clips this is a good item) Note: Items listed ranging from the DGOL buckles to the metal slide adjuster I have a high quantity and/or amount of those items when they were delivered. However I am willing to sell them off to any members who are doing the Imperial Army/Security Trooper since I don't need a lot of these stuff I received from Amazon. My Armor Progress tab: - Acquired: Helmet[WTF] Chest and Black Plate[WTF] Neck piece[WTF] Some grebblies[WTF and SMF] Shoulder Bells[Classified] Shin Knees caps[SMF] Biceps[Classified] Straps and Buckles[Classified] The goggles and their accessories[SMF]. Respirator tube greebles for the back plate[SMF] Shins[SMF] - Semi-Acquired: Side curves for the back plate[WTF] Shoulder Bells[SMF] A telemetry piece that goes on the upper left side of the helmet[SMF] - Debating on/considering getting new pieces from other reliable vendors or Sean's Mudtrooper Files: Helmet[SMF] Biceps[WTF or IS] More to come when I get the chance but this is still good intel for any future IST or IATs but really excited to get this complete. Also since the Spanish are doing the riot shield I will be working on the Baton as I want to use real metal to make it into a prop but a real defense tool, more posts coming whenever I am not too busy.
  7. I don't think so I meant the liner that goes around the helmet but I might use Sean's Muddy-ICAT-Aldani Helmet that already has the liner ingrained so its less of an hassle.
  8. ok well I know for sure that I will stay as a basic with a few lvl 2 features after approval, since I definaltey want functional goggles and boots that are not too rare and can fit me.
  9. Well that sucks I guess fining our sizes is a needle in a giant haystack. I will say when it comes to crowprops if you go under "Booties"(I am not making that up, I swear to god.) youll find some Jackboots that are replicas of the real deal if you both want to start off there since I might resort to those.
  10. Well you might get lucky with the boots, where I am dead in the water.
  11. Welcome to the club, so far in my research and asking around if your want replicas of german boots you can either do crowprops or keeptrooping but they both have their own cons. As for the real deal I see 2 places Epic militaria and Hessenantique but hopefully you have a small foot, a big foot like me(a size 12) is like a needle in a haystack. Also is Jim tripon a good vendor for the soft goods too?
