I tried to take a picture of myself while trying on all the parts yesterday, but it came out way to dark to see any details. I'm not used to black armor

I found some parts that need more trimming, a couple of return edges that need to be trimmed down, and I need to cut down the hand guards a bit, they are way too big.

I got some more parts done this weekend. Finished the hand guards and the belt. Only part not finished is the TD, but that's because I haven't found a pipe in the right dimension yet. Still need some fine tuning on the strapping. And then wipe everything down, since it's full of dirt and fingerprints after building.

Looking pretty good. I think your thigh ammo belt is titling upward. A tiny strip of velcro might fix that into position and keep it nice and straight.

As for the detonator, if the AM TD caps are the size of the FX, then they are pretty large compared to screen used. I know a fellow who could get you some accurate-sized caps that will fit over a standard pvc pipe. Let me know if you want in contact with him.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I know about the thigh ammo belt, I'm working on it. Going to reshape it a bit as well. The AM parts does not give up without a struggle.

 

The detonator is the exact same size as my Troopermaster TD, so I think it should be ok.

I have moved the thigh ammo belt, and the armor is now 501st approved, and tomorrow I'm going to troop first time in it, at a Roller Derby match.

 

First time in black, after 2 years of trooping in shiny white.. Woho!

Differs by trooper. Some people really love the mirrored lenses and silver frown. I prefer the black frown and lenses. All up to you based on what you think looks most bad-ass.

Now that happens to me all the time. My favorite is when another kid corrects the kid that said it with a "no, that is a stealth trooper" or I have heard "blackhole" out of kids. I would be proud to be that kids father.
