Magma Trooper Project

Hey.

 

It 's been a while.

 

Ok, this project was supposed to be a stealth for my sister while she was mobilized in Afganistan, she's back now, thanks God, and she changed her mind to a Magma...so, here is the progress so far.

 

It is wip and I just wanted to run it by you to see what you guys think about the color.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I hope to have it ready in a few weeks.

Looks good man. Just one question, did you primer before painting? Just looks a little dark, but that might be the lighting, pic. res. etc. But lookin good bro. Tell your sis, thank you for her service to our country and thank GOD shes home safe........

And no, I am not using primer, just lots of paint to cover the black. What I am aiming for is that when it scratches it looks black underneath the paint.

 

As for the color, its the light. The parts look just like the lid.

I've seen those boots before and considered getting them. You need to paint the elastic to make it red like the boots. Otherwise they are great for the magma.

As long as the paint sticks to the plastic it's good. Just don't ever want too much black showing. (And keep the drop boxes black. They look awesome that way!)

There should be a cloth paint at your local craft store that you can use. Or try a car upholstery paint.

Ok, this needs a few more details to be ready for approval, but I just speeded the process to have her use it. I hope to finish it sometime next week.

Hi everyone....I am Lourdes, Francisco sister. Thank you all for all the suggestions given to my brother about my trooper.... I had a blast in ComicCon....For what I understand, it still needs some work before it can be presented for approval. Yes, I am back from Afghanistan and I had lots of fun over there...Yeah I know...I am probably the only one that says that had fun being deployed... You are welcome and it was my honor serving and still is.

From a quick review, I would try and tighten up the forearms, they look a little big. The shoulders could be trimmed a little to keep things more proportional. Pandatrooper at FISD has a great tutorial for modding for smaller troopers.
