Weir from Colorado

As I am finishing up my shadow scout and getting 501st approved, I thought I would start this, as its the next step in my obsession!

 

I am going to maintain both Weir and my scout, so I am going to have 2 helmets, biceps, and belts.

 

I have a couple questions before I start really getting into this, just so I don't buy something I don't need. First up, what is a good red to use for the belt detail and t-bits? I was thinking of just a basic red spray paint, but is there something better? Next I had a question about the CRL. It has a neck seal listed at required. But on the biker scout and shadow scout they are not. Could I get away without one? Last, there is no specialist status on Weir at this time correct?

I'd say that if you are keeping your lid on, then you'll probably be fine without the neck seal, as all the references are not overly definitive when he's see with his lid on.

 

 

If you decide to go for the bald head, lids off look, then you'll definitely need one, because it is clearly visible in the source material.

 

 

Any Rosso, Scarlet, or other good red should be sufficient. Don't make them too shiny.. He is a General after all, and a bit of a nasty bugger to boot, so I doubt his gear would be squeaky clean. All that Sullustan blood tends to make a mess.

 

 

There isn't a specialist status on Weir, but if you follow the one for the Storm Commando, you'll be on the right track.

Next up is to find another helmet, or order another one from SC when he is back from Dragon*Con. As well as start my bandoliers. In general, seems that making the boxes from wood is the approach I have seen. Any thoughts?

Weir is good. I am waiting for a few more parts to come in. I will have my shadow scout done first however.

I ended up making my own visor. The paint it drying but its done. Ill post a pic later

I am still waiting on my shipment notification from SC. Once that armor is in and ready I will submit for 501st membership with my shadow scout. Then I will put the finial touches on this guy.

 

And with that, all that I need aside from the SC armor is pouches and that is ready. I am going to make the pouches over the next week if all goes well

It looks way better in the helmet. Outside it almost looks pink but aginst the black helmet it gets pretty red.

Any updates? I was thinking of doing a shadow scout for my next build after my TX but I would want interchangeable parts for a Weir.

Since I am off between jobs, I thought it would be a good time to get all of the projects that are sitting around finished.

 

Here is some pictures of Weir's helmet with the new lens. I should have him 99% done this week. I am on a wait list with woodchuck for the bandoleers and from the sounds of it, it might not happen until the end of July. Thats no bother to me, gots other things to go!

It stands out quite nice with the red visor.

 

I have also finished my ANH E-11 and its a option for Weir but I would rather have him with a DLT-19. Outside of Sci-Fire, is there any other makers for DLT-19s?
