neoakaj[TX]
Well well! I have finished my TK and I am now ready to start my Shadow Scout upgrade project. I will be upgrading to the specialist status level. This upgrade will also serve as a base for my other scout projects. Now I have a CRL question Belt must be made from one piece at the front, and not separated with fabric in between the front part where the drop box straps attach, apart from at the back where the TD box sits. What the heck is this talking about????? Link to comment
neoakaj[TX]
One more quick question, on the pouches, can there be visable stich lines for the velcro on the flaps? Link to comment

Griffin-X[501st]
One more quick question, on the pouches, can there be visable stich lines for the velcro on the flaps? It's best to keep this hidden. Link to comment

Ill be using a new belt, but ill take a pic of mine and make sure how I have my current one is right, otherwise ill make the correct changes. and noted on the flaps Link to comment
Chef[501st]
The belt things means like this... and not like this... The plastic portion of the belt must be one piece. With no visible gaps or joins. Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Yes...please, not like that one! Link to comment
neoakaj[TX]
Aww man I wanted to do that....... Noted on that as well. Is the SC belt good enough for specialist? If I put it together with glue and not rivets Link to comment

If I put it together with glue and not rivets Yes...that is what I have for my setup. I basically just used Gorilla glue on the two outer parts to attach them to the main belt. It's pretty smooth and hard to even tell that it's done that way. Link to comment
Chef[501st]
Yeah, SC will be fine, with some work. Ideally you'd want to butt the two rear parts up to the front part. Add a strip of backing plastic behind it with some decent glue, then fill any resulting gap so it's nice and smooth. Then paint to suit. Link to comment

Is that a must for Specialist or just ideal ? Link to comment
Chef[501st]
They have to be as seamless as possible. I'd personally go with no visible seams, but I am not the only man on the judging panel. So not technically a 'must', but certainly ideal. Each suit is judged on it's own merit, and each part is scrutinised on an individual basis. But if it's completely seamless.... then I have nothing to moan about (and where's the fun in that!). Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Agreed...well said Chef. Link to comment
neoakaj[TX]
Yay..... NOT.... my boots died So another part of my upgrade will be making new boots. I am also working with SC to get a few parts for my fiancee. She wants to make a convention worthy scout... Kinda like the fem scout patch I just hope he gets back to me soon as we hope to have it for a con at the end of next month. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Are you going to the con that I think you are? If so I will see you there! Also, that is sad about your boots. I hope to get approved before then. Link to comment
