Ewok Hunter[501st]
So I guess it's time to start one of these, even though I only have gloves and balaclava in hand. Gloves are from WW and the Balaclava is a DriFire warm weather I got off ebay. I have a flight suit on order from MC. Once it is in hand I can start figuring out how to do the suede patches. Cummerbund/pouches and a flak vest on order, but since they are being made in Bolivia it will be a few weeks (months maybe?) before they arrive. Hold-out blaster is a resin cast from a member on the biker scout forums, shipped with tracking number received. I also have a DLT-19 getting finished up by Sci-Fire. I was able to go directly to the person who makes them and he said it should be done and shipped soon. The rest will likely be ordered from MC since he's local to me which I hope will make things a bit easier. All is depending on funds now. I have about enough set aside for boots at the moment, but the rest will likely be end of the month and into August before I can order. Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
The wait time for MC is killer, so be prepared for that part. Sounds like you have ordered your soft parts from CB; great stuff but takes a little while too. CB is a good dude. Awesome call on the DLT-19; I hope you ordered from Lewis directly and not from the SF web site. You have a good plan! Let us know if you need any help. Link to comment
Ewok Hunter[501st]
Yep, I emailed and paid Lewis directly on the DLT. I understand most armorers are doing their thing part time, so wait times are expected. Especially since these are not regular production parts for commercial sales. All I ask for is at least some communication every once in a while to let me know I haven't been forgotten. Link to comment

He's a super nice guy and I too own one. Link to comment

Any chance I could get Lewis's contact info regarding a DLT-19? Would love to get a hold of one while I am waiting on my Shadow Trooper Kit. Link to comment

Ewok Hunter[501st]
If you want in sooner on the jumpsuit you can get rep kap coveralls on amazon. I have already ordered from MC, so since the money was already sent I'll just wait. Link to comment
Ewok Hunter[501st]
Hold-out pistol was just delivered. Link to comment
Ewok Hunter[501st]
OK, so I have a question on the tank. Talking to MC he mentioned an LED kit instead of a red square decal. Looking at some other costumes here and the white scouts on BSN I have noticed some have the decal and some don't. The CRL doesn't mention it that I can tell. Is this something I need or is it just an extra some people do? Which way is required for the Specialist rating? No, I'm not building right off the bat for Specialist. I am just curious so I don't do something that would DQ me from that in the future. I also didn't see it on the Weir CRL either, which is something I have considered for a secondary use since it seems to only be a few extra pieces instead of a whole new one. Link to comment
Chef[501st]
No red square or flashing LED's.... Link to comment

Ewok Hunter[501st]
Small update. I ordered some boots, and I got my shipping notice on the bund/pouches and vest a few days ago. Slowly moving along. Link to comment
Scubacat[TX]
Awesome! I am going to start a new thread on here for voting so that this one is open for other things. You and Charlie are fully welcomed since you are both part of the future. it will be for a name and logo as soon as I finish drawing some ideas. Link to comment
Ewok Hunter[501st]
Got my flightsuit in yesterday in between helping out at Wings over the Rockies and the garrison meet and greet. I grabbed a piece of pig suede from Tandy, so I'll be looking to make the patches and get them on once I find a way to sew leather. Is there anywhere that has the dimensions for the patches? Going to be calling around tomorrow to check prices and lead times for my armor. Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
There is a pattern used over on the Bikerscout.net site (see below). You'll just need to scale it down to your size. Link to comment
Ewok Hunter[501st]
So would I need two of those? Link to comment

Ewok Hunter[501st]
Someone on my garrison forum pointed me to this on BSN. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10759 I like it mostly because I don't have to sew it. Any thoughts on looks? Does the elastic have to be secured all the way around the leg or does it hang from where it is secured under the suede and just keep close? Also ordered my helmet from CB since his are slightly bigger than most, but I'm a big guy with a big head, neck and shoulders so it should look good on me, and most importantly, fit me. Chef[501st]
I'd personally sew it on. Yes it's a ball ache, but less likely to come off unexpectedly. I just sew the elastic on under the edge of the suede. I don't go all the way around the leg. Link to comment
Griffin-X[501st]
Agreed, sew it in place. Link to comment
